(1/7) Governor and honorable legislators, I, the undersigned, do not consent to my state government reassigning or reapportioning the state’s electoral votes, from a presidential election, based on the results of any election(s) outside of our state.

Our bicameral legislature includes equality among states and representation via population. The Electoral College mirrors both of those goals.

The Senate & Electoral College are promises to smaller states and incoming states. In the Senate, all states in the Senate have an equal voice. In the Electoral college, every state has one voice. Additional votes in the EC are due to population.

Protections of Florida's SB 1414 by @GovGoneWild and @JayCollinsFL and HB 1381 by @jenna_persons require that people prove citizenship before voting. What a novel concept! Now if we can get them to prove citizenship before registering! This is why we don't have a popular vote for the Presidency. A lot of votes in concentrated population centers does not represent the opinion of the nation as a whole.

One of the many, many, problems with a national popular vote for the presidency is the impact of fraud. In a state election, such as the 50 presidential elections, fraud is contained in each state. In a national popular vote election, voter fraud infests the entire system.
