@mcuban @HEALTHCOSTtruth So what about charges that aren’t paid on the OPPS? Should a hospital just not bill for those?
Is the patient actually self-pay? Isn’t that the risk of not carrying insurance?
Does the hospital have charity check post bill?
Margins are single digits and devil is in the details.

Another NON-PROFIT Hospital.
Another ridiculous claim.
They billed $1,800 for a few basic labs.
Medicare would pay $97.
Even after a 32% cash "discount", they still demand $1,113.
That’s 1,143% of Medicare.
Again, this is a NON-PROFIT hospital.
They’re now threatening collections on a disputed claim, without ever screening the patient for Financial Assistance, and billing way above their own AGB.
This is exactly why the system is broken.
This is exactly why I fight claims.
THEY WON'T GET AWAY WITH IT!
Save this.
Tag someone who still thinks non-profit hospitals are “charitable.”

@mcuban Hospitals’ commercial contracts typically have carve-outs for high cost drugs and implants. These are usually percent of charge and may require minimum charge amount to meet the term - so there’s an incentive to have inflated purchases. (And that’s free consulting advice)

Why aren’t any of these at risk hospitals publishing their full accounting so everyone can see where they spend their money ?
All but one group of hospitals that I have looked at potentially investing in, spend so much on consultants and fees that it’s no wonder they are at risk
Plus, I have NEVER seen an industry that is worse than hospitals when it comes to buying medications and items like implants, screws, other devices. They overpay for everything.
And then when you show them how to save money, their “supply chain” employees resist any change.
They are so set in their ways, it’s a shock more don’t go out of business.
Prove me wrong.

@EASPORTS in my CFB 26 online Dynasty, I have a 70% blue chip ratio, am ranked #1 in the country, and have won 2 national championships in the last 5 seasons. Yet, I am a B+ championship contender and behind many schools without these traits. What gives???
