Today has seen more rain fall already than we have had in weeks! April and May are the wrong way round this year. 😮‍💨

March action from one of our teams delivering #LandDrainage solutions on this cross country utility route. Sunshine (at last) making conditions significantly kinder than we have seen over the long wet winter! #Farm #Water #Drainage

February rainfall so far. Average total February rainfall for southern England is around 60mm. No real sign of a prolonged dry spell.

Spot where it’s been raining. Thousands of miles of England’s rivers currently being polluted with raw sewage.

A very wet start to the year, especially for southern England. Already over 150% of average January rainfall with a fair bit more to come.

@charlespaynter Same here and shows just how dry the ground was. It is a huge defecit. So the rains we are now getting are most welcome - albeit there is a long way to go!

@WilliamMorfoot 👍 ditches & streams only just starting to carry water consistently here. Anglian Water were talking of well over a 20” deficit before the recent rainfall.

Now at precisely 100mm of rainfall for this month after yesterday’s efforts. First time in 2025 we have have seen a triple digit month for rain. After the very dry summer months, this rainfall is much needed to start to replenish the aquifers. This is a start but a very long way to go yet.
