@Taxsavvyjessica I was taught that this was our business. We set the rules of when we open, when we close, how much they pay and when. It also included how and when we do our work. I remind my clients they trust me to take care of them, so ask questions but not that one. #finewinetakestime

Do any of my #taxtwitter pals provide their clients with definitive dates their tax return will be completed by? Not just “returns take on average 3 weeks.” I’m talking “your return will be completed on 5/31.” I don’t provide this information and I don’t really want to. It sets the expectation that if that date isn’t met that it’s my fault (even when it typically isn’t) and the client “follows up” until the return is given to them (which is annoying). The reality is I can’t make guarantees when work will be completed. I usually have an ongoing list of what I plan to complete in a day, but often have to move things around to accommodate something more urgent.

I want to have a long, serious discussion with another professional on “ordinary and necessary” for different businesses in this day and age with business types that are new and evolving.

@andreacpa0 These are spot on. My son is an engineering student and moonlights in the summer for me working on inputs. He drives me nuts sometimes with his $.12 variance report. I tell him we have to give Doge something to say they've found or it will disrupt the system.

IM JOKING, but this is the very incorrect stereotypes of what these tax pros think these clients are like. dont come for me engineer - wants to know where every dollar input ends up as an output in their tax return and gets uncomfortable with rounding differences 1/5

On Friday, May 15th, I was moving into a new apartment complex with the help of my brother, my mom, and my friend Ollie. We arrived to the complex at 9PM with the UHAUL and began unloading boxes at 10PM. The room was on the 6th floor, so we would take the elevator down, grab boxes from the UHAUL, and then take them back up to my room. We did these trips for about 2 hours, and each trip took roughly 3-4 minutes. At a little past midnight, we went down to do the final trip and left my 1 year old Dachshund, Walter, in my room while we went. We went down, grabbed boxes, and came back up. As we were walking down the hallway back to my room, the fire alarms started going off. We were confused what was going on, so we decided to go back to the room to drop off the last boxes and grab Walter to evacuate the building. When we arrived at my front door, there was smoke coming through the door from my room. We dropped the boxes, opened the door, and were instantly hit by a huge wave of smoke coming from the room. The room was pitch black, covered in smoke, and water sprinklers were flooding the floors. My immediate thought was Walter was trapped inside. My friend Ollie and I decided to run into the room to try to find him. The water on the floor went up to our ankles. Even with a flashlight, I could not even see a foot in front of me, so I guided myself through the room with my hands until I reached the back of the room. However, Walter was nowhere to be found. I ended up running inside 2 more times to try to find him but I couldn’t find him on all 3 attempts. At that point, I had inhaled too much smoke to continue staying in the room/hallway, so we were forced to evacuate. The fire department arrived shortly after, and after waiting outside on the street for 5 minutes, a firefighter came out with Walter in his hand. He was very shaken up, but he was somehow okay. My brother, Ollie, and I had to get in an ambulance to get checked due to the amount of smoke inhaled, but luckily, we were all okay. A few hours later, we were allowed back up into the unit to see the damage. Everything inside the apartment was destroyed beyond repair, including PC’s, TV’s, furniture, computer equipment, and more. As devastating as it is to lose everything I had, I am forever grateful that everyone, including Walter, is safe and okay.

Had a “tax influencer”’s attorney send me a cease and desist for a couple of my social media posts several weeks ago, and I think it’s beautiful an attorney is getting paid hundred of dollars an hour to watch my videos 🫶 #taxtwitter

Fortnite would do well to play into this at LAN. Let them stream and get their bag while ruining each other’s tournament. Prepare a sick package to start the show, highlight it early, move to the next off spawn, then broadcast normally. Easy money for everyone. Yeah, it sucks that neither will qual for globals but everyone wins during Summit and after. Then you have the two biggest names to follow in Major 2 and 3. Imagine the opposite where both qual for globals and make Majors boring? Set it all on fire and enjoy.
Competitive Awards@CompAwardsFN

Whether you’re a Clix fan or a Peterbot fan, this is great the growth of the game. The two biggest names going at it on the biggest stage. Fortnite needs more of this 🫡
