Just released v0.1 of MemSed! It is a MEMory Search and EDit tool for Linux, inspired by Cheat Engine. I was looking for alternatives to CE and didn't find anything that fit my needs, so I made my own! Still a work in progress, but already very usable. github.com/Willy-JL/MemSed

Nvidia is working with a startup called Span and home builder PulteGroup to install mini data centers on the outside of new residential houses. These units use Span’s smart electric panels and Nvidia chips to turn extra home electricity into power for AI computing. Nvidia want to meet the AI demand being way cheaper than building big data centers Early tests now starting in new PulteGroup neighborhoods where homeowners may get payments to lower their electric bills.

@rebane2001 root passwords are intentionally weak, so you could log into the VPS and change it, you dont leave the root password as "N/A".

i set up a new vps at some weird provider and they sent me an e-mail with my vps credentials the root password said N/A, so you'd think that there's no root password by default. BUT NO! THE ROOT PASSWORD IS LITERALLY "N/A"!! AND SSHD IS EXPOSED ON PUBLIC IPV4?? THE FUCK ??

VideoLAN has released a new open-source tool called dav2d. It is a CPU-based decoder for AV2 video, AV2 is the next open video format after AV1 and promises better compression and higher quality. dav2d is based on VideoLAN’s popular dav1d decoder for AV1, works on many platforms and focuses on being fast and correct. The code is now public on VideoLAN’s GitLab site. This is an early project because the full AV2 standard is not finished yet.

@SahilPanhotra @Pirat_Nation This isn't about gpu or not. We'll 100% need GPU hardware decoding AV2 for it to become mainstream. With just a CPU decoder you'll drain your battery in minutes of playback. But a CPU decoder shows industry-wide interest in adopting the codec, and will encourage GPU support.

The FCC has unanimously voted to advance a proposal banning all laboratories in China, including Hong Kong, from certifying electronic devices sold in the United States. Citing national security risks in the testing and certification process, this rule would affect roughly 75% of electronics bound for the U.S. market. Manufacturers would need to use testing facilities in the U.S. or approved countries instead. The proposal is now open for public comments before a final decision.
