Canadian sports broadcasting icon Vic Rauter signs off for one last time. After nearly 41 years with TSN, the #WMCC Gold Medal Game was Vic's final broadcast.
Thank you, @TSNVicRauter 🥹❤️
Hanifin, Hertl, Marner, and Andersson are good players. None of them have had 5v5 impact the way they had hoped for.
I’d sell ASAP. Recoup some picks. Clear $. Build around Eichel, Theodore, Marner, Hanifin.
All in on Werenski or Q. Hughes.
Throw everything at McDavid.
I think VKG can win a round or 2 if they have Stone and Karlsson + 100% healthy lineup.
Other than their PP, there is no reason to think this is realistic.
Kinda shocked GMKM was a buyer knowing Karlsson won’t be an option until round 2 at best.
“For anyone who called us cheaters, for anyone who said negative things about Marc Kennedy, about our families… I hope that the image of us on top of the podium… smiling from ear to ear is burned into your brain forever.” - Brad Jacobs
@Devin_Heroux Why are the established training facilities in Calgary closed? Canada underperformed in Italy and a guy like you can’t ignore that! The public and private funding toward sport needs to be looked at. The results in 2010 show what can happen if these athletes are properly funded
@Devin_Heroux When it’s over, will you start to ask the hard and real questions about competitive sport in Canada? Enough fan boying! Dig deep into why we’re using German second hand bobsleds, why our Canadian Olympic committee is asking for over 200 million more in funding
It looks absolutely spectacular outside the Arena Di Verona as the athletes start to make their way inside the ancient amphitheatre.
It’s a beautiful evening here.
And I can’t believe it’s almost over.
@KerryFi48965051@LittleSopes94@cullenoncurling You ask Randy Ferbey if he’d rather have 4 Briers or one Olympic gold. Then go ask Bruce Mouat if he’d rather have Olympic gold or 15 grand slam titles. Your answer will be 1 Olympic gold. Cuppsy has won on the biggest stage more than any other Canadian skip, give him the horns!
@LittleSopes94@cullenoncurling He has a way to go yet before he is the GOAT in curling. Not taking away from what he has accomplished but he isn't the Goat yet. Overall performance in Briers, Grandslams, Worlds and Olympics will determine the GOAT not just Olympics.
Elated for Brad, deflated for Bruce, but we can agree on one thing: after all the attention curling got this week, that was a beautiful showcase of the game at its best. Instant classic.
@LittleSopes94@johnnymocurler@CBCOlympics@corona Johnny! Have a zero and toss on the 2010 highlights…what we’re witnessing in today’s game doesn’t come close to that Kmart club! Once in a lifetime magic
@johnnymocurler@CBCOlympics@corona Had a few zero’s tonight Johnny Mo but I think next Homan game, I’m going to crack open something a little stronger. Maybe a local Albertan 10%er IPA
Go 🇨🇦 Go
… The stress and intensity at the Olympics are real... Let’s cut these athletes some slack and, crack open a Corona Zero, grab some popcorn, and enjoy some must see TV 🍿 📺 🥌

There’s been an awful lot of “bombing” talk for what has been average “bombing” at best. Never forget who the greatest of all time was.

@dantencer Bingo! Broberg was gone, regardless of the offer sheet. Never rescinded trade request from December, was number 4 on the LD depth chart and had no interest in playing right side. Saving his money, plus using the assets from STL to upgrade 2RD is the final piece of the puzzle
I'm still a little iffy on that blue line, but the forward corps looks much better than what I expected, especially given Edmonton's cap constraints.
I'm not prone to unconditional praise, but this was just a great day for Jeff Jackson, his staff, and the Edmonton Oilers.
I'm not sure what other shoe is still to drop to clear salary cap space, but at this exact moment in time I don't care. The Oilers had a fantastic day. Their worst contracts were passable; their best either significantly improved the team or locked in gains made at the deadline.
