@Dannythefink Yeah right, still using fax machines because of the unions? Pretty sure they also have unions in Scandinavia (far more powerful than those in the UK) , but I reckon they've managed to stop using fax machines.

Although this exchange does certainly raise questions about management, I think it is also an insight into union power on the railways. It would be interesting to know more, because it suggests that giving in to strikes is impacting far more than just pay.
