8-year-old Amir Demarion Harden was fatally shot in the head and neck in Burnsville, Minnesota, on June 5, 2024, while bravely protecting his mother from his father, Danair Cornelius Harden, 30. Harden had been released from jail just hours earlier that same day after posting bail on domestic assault charges against the mother. During a late-night argument, he pulled a gun; Amir tried to help wrestle it away and was struck by a bullet intended for his mom. The father then turned the gun on himself. Amir died from his injuries on June 9. Rest in peace, little hero. 🕊️
