Now that I look at it, my only real concern with this headset is the lack of top strap. Get your 3D printers ready.

So my guess was right. Streaming from PC to headset to compensate for lack of VR games, so that people can justify getting one, hence controllers having standard Xbox layout to them (and the fact that VR theater mode exists for this purpose already.)

@dtupper Eye tracking's probably designed for foveated encoding, not betting on anything meant for expressions for SocialVR. Dual bottom mipi expension ports at the bottom are intresting for people cooking face tracking algos but definitelly left for someone to make

so far, pros: very light! not BSB light, but >500g is great eye tracking! wireless by default! wifi 7!!! with dongle!!!! more buttons on controllers FINGER TRACKING!!! youtu.be/dU3ru09HTng?si… AAs IN THE CONTROLLERS LETS GO magnetic thumbstick!!! DRIFT IS DEAD cool two-stage triggers!! specs across the board look great nice high rez screens, pancake lenses batteries replaceable everywhere looks like some interesting expandability/hackability with under-nose port and replacable headstrap/battery combo. very clever design. finally, the wait is over. brad can move on. cons: LCDs... 😮‍💨 I've been spoiled by oLEDs no face tracking... no option for power/data tether (yet) in-HMD speakers. we'll never get you back, BMRs... 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 cons, but it was obvious: lighthouse is gone. you'll have to tape a tracker to the Frame to sync playspaces, lol. overall, the Frame looks like a great headset, but I'm not actually sure if it'll replace my BSB2. we'll see!

@reflex_1124 Ah, makes sense. I don't know about Illustrator bugs, but I could never understand Illustrator, but I knew Photoshop. Having familiar UI in Designer actually helped me learn vector graphics. And now that Affinity is free it's pretty easy to recommend to others haha

@WindmillVR I'm so used to Illustrator, but with all the bugs in Illustrator 2026, it might be a good idea to switch.

Already seeing people complain about no face tracking, but realistically speaking, aside from VRChat, what does even support it? Meta had their own (failed) incentive for having FT on QPro, but why would've Valve added it at all?

@duinrahaic Had my eye on this for a while. I very much like the idea, but I want to see them in long term use. A longer session without recalibrating. A short video is only good for showing the range of motion and the good ol' marketing.

@Jazzputin @duinrahaic Always used OVR Toolkit, never had issues with it in the 4 years I've used it and all I've heard for people trying to convert me over is shit like "Yeah it crashes like every 20 minutes but it's still better" and stuff like that, definitely made me wanna try it 😭
