I hear him it. It won’t be the same if you’re not originally a scouser. You can’t feel exactly the same as someone who’s been born/brought up in Liverpool. That being said I’ve been a Liverpool fan since the age of 3/4 . My church had a branch in Liverpool and my friends from their were who I hung around with majority of the time when they came to London or we went there. They probably had a huge influence on why I support Liverpool. I was always fascinated by everything from the accent and the way of life, to just how friendly and kind they were with me. My mum tells me of how I used to scream Gerrard and Owen in front of the TV. Things that I don’t even remember lol. I’m one of 6 children and we couldn’t afford to go to games when younger. Due to time or finances. The first thing I did when I got my uni money was buy a ticket to go and experience the atmosphere at Anfield and it was everything I’d dreamt of and more. I’ve been to plenty of games since. Games that I’ve spent my own money and queued on the site to get like everyone else and games I’ve been fortunate enough to have been gifted tickets for. (Tickets that the club has allocated for sponsors that PAY the club let’s not forget). Whilst I fully back local teams being championed and supported. Football is bigger than that. If you only want local fans only take local players too for 100% authenticity. Like it or not some teams still need non local fans.

Dyer was lucky to grow up somewhere with a top flight, moderately successful team though. Where I live the local team have floated between League One and even went down to the National League, so whilst we do support them and go to games it's not uncommon for people to also have Top Flight team they support

The exception to this rule is that it is socially acceptable to support who your dad supported irrespective of where you are actually from. A dad is entitled to hand that down like a family heirloom.

@OnTheShelfWHL @collinso41 It does. It pisses me off. We have a North London section with too much clout and those foreigners can fuck off. They whinged their way into online tickets instead of queueing at the ticket office. Robbing locals of their chance of big game tickets. Fucking hate them.

The amount of people that dont get Danny dyers point about football is exactly what is wrong with football. Im a swindon fan cus its where im from. All my friends who are also from here support a team in the "big 6" for no fucking reason. It's pathetic. #STFC

@EngliscSeaxan @collinso41 He's not there every week and he wasn't born there. It isnt his local team. Ive gone and watched other teams with my friends and I felt like a foreigner. Port Vale is the only club for me.

@LeagueOne25 Please explain 9 minutes of extra time gifted to them. They also looked knackered by the end of the game. Their defence had been run ragged and they didnt even test our keeper. 3rd place my arse.

Port Vale’s Connor Hall hauls down Bolton Wanderers forward Sam Dalby No free kick was given but imo it should be a free kick and a red card for the defender #pvfc #bwfc

Fully agreed. I have a mate who started supporting Man City because she fancied Gareth Barry. She’s a born and bred Geordie and now openly takes the piss out of Newcastle when they beat us. It’s actually mental. Celebrating a club from another part of the country that you’ve got no real connection to beating the club that represents your home, your roots, where you’re from, where your family’s from. I just don’t get it.

@chalkey1973 Having been on both ends of this it ia hard to know what to think. The bloke I paid a deposit to did a cracking job. The bloke who scammed me had dome work for me before and the bank even admitted they would have approved it. The world is a shit place now.

A mate of mine who's a joiner priced a job up to supply and fit a full house of doors, told customers 50 % up front to cover materials. The rest on completion. Customers went to the Halifax bank in town today. Bank wouldn't transfer payment . Stating this could be fraud

A word about the yoof @sheffieldfc It’s very easy to be down on young uns innit. We all forget that was us once. On Tuesday I told this lot if they brought a drum and made some noise I’d buy them a pie. We’re trying to grow a community!! They did exactly that and yeah they sang a few songs that were too much. Some lemonade got thrown about. Nobody got hurt. Just kids being daft. So rather than throw them out or shout at em I just said “look lads gimme 9/10 not 11/10 and keep it cool yeah” Second half they were good as gold and helped inspire the men’s first team to their best performance of the season with an amazing atmosphere at a hugely increased capacity. So I just wanna shout out this gang of lads not only for their vibes but also being responsive to me asking them to tone it down a bit. Also a bit shoutout to Vill Powell and his players. Promotion remains a real possibility and last night they were incredible 🔥
