Judging by this, I would’ve never guessed that Icy had Bloom’s Dragon Flame in this scene LOL Icy was portrayed as a huge threat when she had it in the OG series. Here she loses aura to a medicine ball I CAN’T 😂😅😭

✨Theory✨ Is Damien a gender-swapped version of Mirta?! 👀They both have short red hair, light-colored eyes, wear black & white, and Damien might be a Warlock or Wizard like how Mirta is a Witch! If Knut is replaced by a whole other giant monster, this could be true for Mirta⬇️

@WingsofThe @HynJng12 Not to mention Mirta and Flora's relationship was very queer coded and instead Flora and Damien became a thing. They replaced Mirta with Damien to avoid dealing with the elephant in the room. The reboot is Regressive on so many levels

I could be wrong, but this might be the first time we actually see a fairy decide to become a witch on screen in Winx Club history! I would be more happy/excited about this if it wasn’t for the fact that OF COURSE they choose Diaspro to do this with and it’s in this dang reboot🙃

@WingsofThe I think they wanted to show her parents like big workaholics who just don't have enough time for Tecna. It doesn't mean that they don't care about her, they're just absorbed in their work, like many in Zenith, and apparently they decided that robots could replace them. I liked it

I don’t want to give 🌈 credit where it isn’t due, but this reminds me of how in the comics, Tecna was a princess and she felt more comfortable talking to her dad’s robot advisor more than him. The concept is interesting, but why are the parents so bad in the reboot?! 😭😭😭

We didn't even get to see Tecna's parents in OG officialy till season 6.(and even there, i don't remember them being neglectful to their daughter)

@Enchantresse__ Exactly! What made Politea interesting was that she was a Nymph! The only evil nymph in the franchise and she never is a witch. She is literally the evil rival of Daphne and that concept is cool! She’s a character I want to return so we can move on from the Mystery of Abyss LOL

@HynJng12 Unfortunately Mirta can’t exist in a universe where it’s very black-and-white with how they treat fairies and witches. She’s proof that a witch doesn’t have to be bad and even when she became a fairy, she still somewhat kept her aesthetic (If you ignore the color pink) and energy

@HoshiHime_ Yeah I definitely agree that Tecna shouldn’t be a princess! I more so like the concept of her feeling closer to a robot guardian, but still maintains somewhat of a positive relationship with her parents. It’s also a great way for Winx to remember it’s Sci-Fi aspects too!

@WingsofThe Tbh I dont like the idea of tecna being a princess. I think the team is more balanced if its half princesses and half commoners. Plus why such a tecnological planet would still have a monarchy? She could be idk the daughter of two important scientits or something

@imagibunny I wouldn’t be opposed to Diaspro staying as a witch, but get a redemption arc because she will actually have something going on for herself besides being bitter about Bloom & Sky being together, but I doubt that will happen because they write her in such a one-dimensional way!

@MaryamSalahArt Same here! I’m not going to act like the parents were always amazing in the OG series, but I felt like they were more complex whereas here they’re kinda unnecessarily mean and kinda neglectful at times. At least you could argue before that they just want the best for their kids.

@WingsofThe I hate the "parents bad, kids good" trope because while it applies to many parents,it doesn't apply to all of them. Dare I say that representing many parents in this way will make kids hate their own,even if they're good,since many animated series they watch have that trope on it

@evasdiz I agree! It would’ve been more compelling if we saw the good sides to him later in the show rather than that being shown too early because it does alter a big part of his personality. I just didn’t expect that they were going down this route because of how different he is here.

@WingsofThe Why did Riven have to be a good guy from the start? It's bad writing, the character should have been introduced as he was originally and evolved from there. If Riven were always like he was presented in the reboot, it would be boring.

I’m so tired of this storyline! 🙄 Can we please just keep Riven as a good guy for once?! 😭😭😭 We already have Damien, to fill this role so it would feel really redundant to make Riven bad out of nowhere when for once it seemed like he was going to not be that bad!

But I really wish they chose a different character! Then again, they don’t really focus on other fairies besides the Winx so there seemed to be no other option because there’s no compelling side characters that are fairies in the reboot 😕

I can’t believe that as anti-witch as the OG series was in retrospect, it at least understood that Diaspro was a bad person and kept her as a fairy! They’re really doubling down on witches can only be evil in this reboot. It’s unfortunate because this concept is interesting, ⬇️
