@WittyEchoes Real parents treat their children like equal human beings, just smaller and more nescient of the world around them.
Parents should inform their child into sound reasoning and thus the child will be less likely to "rebel" because they truly believe their parents are right.
English

@WittyEchoes Most parents were themselves raised by authoritarian parents and so the appeal to authority argument comes naturally.
they're the big person now, even if mentally not mature, so they get to tell you what to do without explanation, bargaining or rationalization.
English

@AdrianneCurry @jdavidschmitz I legitimately can't imagine getting cut.
I can't stand to have fabric rubbing my head with the skin pulled back for prolonged periods of time, without my foreskin there it would be agony.
It's like getting a sharp pain rugburn or a paper cut on the most sensitive area
English

@jdavidschmitz My friends husband was born in another country. He opted to have one in his 30s.
Reported 0 difference in sexual feeling, etc.
Naturally. I had to ask
English

@adriensmws I am truly sorry, no other medical option was able to treat the issue.
Amputation should always be a last resort no matter what the body part is.
I'm very lucky I still have the skin on my fingers, I had horrible eczema growing up that looked like 2nd degree burns.
English

@WinksTheBiker Not at all.
Have you ever had a foreskin disease that no medical treatment could cure?
That's my case, four different medical treatments failed, and circumcision was the only solution to cure the Balanoposthitis I had as a kid.
So, I regained my health thanks to it.
English

@adriensmws Never had an issue my entire life.
Though, I can relate to other autoimmune skin issues (I have exema)
Anecdotes aside, the statistical data (that is highly debatable as credible) shows it takes almost 100 circs to prevent 1 UTI.
Doesn't justify circ as routinely necessary.
English

@adriensmws Circumcision is a purely cosmetic surgery, there are no health benefits.
English

@WinksTheBiker Because one doesn't have any medical benefits, whilst the other one clearly has benefits.
English

Circumcision reduces female-to-male HIV acquisition risk by approximately 60% relatively.
What is the possible mechanism?
Dr. AK 🇮🇳@docakx
What are the medical benefits of circumcision?
English

@retiredbsmtwife As an intact man, whose father was cut.
This was never an issue, I think I can remember like one time I saw his genitalia, and I didn't think much of it.
Very thankful my parents saved my brothers and me from having sandpaper heads 🤢
English

Apparently I have to drag this absolute gem out again.

Circumcision is one of the few surgeries where healthy tissue is removed first, then “benefits” are searched for later to justify it. Good hygiene, safe sex, clean water, and proper healthcare already prevent most of the conditions people blame foreskin for. Cutting healthy babies is not modern medicine.

@taxpayer_q @frfrankpavone Here's an idea, respect the autonomy of the child and do neither.
English

@frfrankpavone In Canada, free limitless abortions, no problem
Circumcision, that has an actual laundry list of health benefits, not covered

@honkformargot I wasn't cut and then had it reversed, I am intact and proud!
But for those that want it reversed, @Foregen is getting closer to that goal for humans!
English

@11975MHz You get tired of mint really quickly.
And nothing else eats it, you can set goats on a field and they'll pick every single branch, prickle bush and grass tuft, but turn their nose up at mint.
If you want it instead of lawn grass go for it, but don't say we didn't warn you.
English

Now wait a minute
So mint is really hardy and grows fast and it's edible and it smells great
...and we have a problem with this?
Why would you ever want a regular old lawn when you can just have a tiny pleasant-smelling mint field?
Am I missing something here?

@ArmedJ0y I need to finish this anime, it's really sweet, but I got sidetracked with life stuff and haven't had a chance yet

>Be a major gun control organization
>Have gun owners on staff
>They have to hide all their guns outside of the state they live in due to gun laws they advocate every day.

Jennifer Mascia@JenniferMascia
@2Aupdates Yes but they don't keep them here, they keep them back home and go shooting on holidays. As you know it's a $500 yearlong process to get a gun permit in NYC. A couple of us have talked about going through it and documenting it, not sure how far along anyone is
English

@FarmGirlCarrie The majority of people in prison are there for victimless crimes, in other words, they didn't do as they were told.
It's unsurprising they would vibe with the anarchist nature of kitties.
