On the economic front, Hon. Odongo called for reinvigorated South–South cooperation to address barriers to financing, fair trade, and technology access that limit growth in developing countries. He noted that despite South–South trade growing from US$0.6 trillion in 1995 to US$5.6 trillion in 2023, its full potential remains untapped. He urged stronger interregional trade and cooperation between Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. 🌎 “As the Chair of NAM, Uganda will continue to champion industrialization, innovation, and structural transformation to drive sustainable development,” the Minister added. #NAMMinisterial2025
