Fellow adoptees. 5 yrs in reunion I discovered I’m a secret in my mom’s life. Her 2nd son from 2nd marriage … a dirt bag … has been getting credit for all my visits & acts of service. She says, “My son did that” - never telling them she has a 1st son. Alot to unpack here. 😢😡

Dear Person Who Adopted - Your voice as someone who was an adopter is NOT valid in the conversation about what it was like to BE adopted. YOU cannot speak for THEIR lived experience. They are an individual apart from YOU. Do not tell an adoptee they're wrong about their life.

@corsent It is so painfully obvious isn’t it? My earliest recollection of knowing this was enrolling in school. You have to bring those documents. My six-year-old mind just couldn’t understand why my birth certificate was falsified.

The day isn’t over. Throwing caution to the wind. I’m sending birthday greetings. Not to get anything in return but because I want to wish him well just like I would anyone else. I’m a glutton for punishment.

Today is my birth father’s b-day. I sent him something early which he acknowledged. I’m letting today pass by because I couldn’t take a 3rd year of no response. It’s killing me that we’re on different wavelengths & don’t want the same relationship ❤️‍🩹
