KAS Kenya hosted the first fireside chat of the year! Starting off strong with Ambassador Tom Amolo, introducing our young aspiring fellows to the importance of value-based diplomacy in a rule-based multilateral order.
The first thematic session of the symposium focused on strategic collaboration between India and Kenya, examining how both countries can deepen cooperation on security, development and emerging frontiers. Moderated by @WinnieRugutt, the session featured @AmbChhabra (former High Commissioner of India to Kenya), Amb. Philip Thigo @pthigo (Special Envoy on Technology), Dr. Mumo Nzau (Head of Programmes at @NDUKenya), Mr. Sanjay Lamba (Regional Representative for East Africa at @IndiaEximBank), Dr. Rose Ngugi (Chairperson of @SVoice2030), and @DrOmbongi (Senior Lecturer at @uonbi) Speakers discussed reimagining India–Kenya relations for the next decade, strengthening defence and maritime security in the Indian Ocean, advancing inclusive development partnerships, exploring opportunities in renewables and critical minerals, and leveraging the Indian diaspora as a bridge for investment, innovation and strategic engagement. #IndiaKenya #strategicdialogue
