As we step into 2026, my prayer is that our hearts would be fully surrendered to Him. That we would trust His voice, rest in His promises, and walk by faith even when the path isn’t clear. He is faithful. He is able. And He is with you every step of the way. 🤍

Let’s talk about Crystal….and the fact that When God Redirects, He’s Protecting You. Crystal Asige’s journey proves it. Her stint with Sauti Sol ended. At the time, it looked like a setback. In reality? It was God moving her into position for something greater. Born in Mombasa with full sight, she lost her vision at 25. Today, she’s a trained BBC journalist, a graduate of the University of the West of England, a fearless disability advocate, and one of Kenya’s most principled legislators. As a nominated Senator, she’s sponsored progressive bills, challenged stereotypes, and served with integrity that outshines the noise of politics. Now, she’s running for Nairobi Woman Representative in 2027. This isn’t just another political race. It’s a chance for Nairobi to choose substance over spectacle. Nairobi doesn’t just need a representative. It needs vision - the kind that sees beyond the superficial. This election will test whether we, as Nairobians, can choose substance over theatrics (I have to keep reiterating this) . Asige’s candidacy is not just about her; it’s a mirror to the city, asking if we are ready to be led by courage, principle, and true vision. For me, the answer is clear. She has my vote.

#Gratitude #Kenya 🇰🇪 #Africa your daughter made you proud #OurDreamsAreValid #GloryBeToGod I have some incredibly exciting news to share with you all 🏆 I've been selected as a 2025 Take The Lead Power Tool Champion! 🎉 Out of all the amazing women nominated, I was chosen as the Power Tool #2 - The Trailblazer winner. #GratefulSoul I'm still processing this honor. I come from very humble beginnings and mine is a story of purpose driven life, #DaringToDream, never giving up hope, the power of faith, genuine constructive mentoring, and above all else putting God first in everything. I was born and raised in Kenya, East Africa. My childhood was in both the slums of Nairobi and remote rural areas of Siaya County in Kisumu where while growing up I experienced first-hand stringent poverty, struggled with my education pursuance due to financial constraints, and domestic issues at a very young age. My passion for science and medical research began in high school at St. Gabriel’s Gagra Mixed Day Secondary School situated in remote rural Siaya County, Kisumu, Kenya. While in high school, there were so many challenges that all the students were succumbed to such as: lack of enough educational necessities, lack of school fees, lack of electricity and at night we studied using the kerosene lanterns, candles and sometimes using the moonlight. However, the girls were at a greater disadvantage when it came to education pursuance because of the norms that had been imposed by so many cultures. These practices somehow affected the girl-child educational progress and prowess and some either just came to school for the sake of it and others lost hope especially in STEM courses completely. As one of the top performing students, I was also actively involved in leadership and empowerment as a school prefect, tutor and a mentor to my fellow students in high school. I actively advocated for collaborative learning agenda and together with the other top performing students, we therefore helped form study group sessions for students who were willing to join them. These sessions, including the science club that I helped lead, were great cocoons for all the students at school and were aimed at tutoring the math and science courses. Continuous excellence earned me index one position during the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination and as the first girl to ever attain highest university entry points from Gagra Secondary School at the time. Girl-child’s excellence in academics and leadership had been deemed somewhat impossible in my society but I was able against all odds to accomplish all these therefore enlightening my society. Currently, not only the number of girls at my former high school increasing but most importantly the girls are continuously shining in academics and leadership performances. This brings so much joy to my heart, makes me extremely motivated and very inspired to continue getting involved in empowerment journeys through various platforms #MentoringTheNextGeneration @PMentorship I recently became the first PhD generation in our family and entire clan; it's been quite a journey and the rest is history! God's amazing grace is sufficient 🙏 #GratefulSoul #WomenInScience #BreakingBarriers #MyStory 👩‍🔬🇰🇪🌍 @Griffith_Uni @JohnsHopkinsSPH @ORISEconnect @MayoClinic @ThomasMoreKY @ZawadiAfrica I never imagined my life journey and work would lead to recognition like this! This is a testament to the saying that never let your impoverished background define your future. Coming from an impoverished background is a catalyst for resilience, determination, and a driving force to overcome adversity, achieve your goals and make a difference. #gritandgrace This award celebrates the work I'm most passionate about - giving back to #humanity through #science, innovation, leadership, mentorship, policy, advocacy, education, #empowerment @UN_Women @citizentvkenya @ntvkenya @beatmalaria @ASTMH @takeleadwomen @StateHouseKenya
