We are pleased to announce this year’s coaching line up for men’s senior rugby Craig Harvey remains as 1st XV head coach and will be supported by Ben Cornford and Phil Crowley. Stuart Gratton comes from our 2nd XV coaching setup and takes his place as assistant forwards coach

The club are pleased to confirm the appointment of Josh Connolly as Director of Youth Rugby. The role will see Josh focus on a more overseeing and strategic view of our pathway. Aiming to continue our reputation as a leading Junior section in the county.

We joined Ian, Regional Pitch Advisor (Rugby Union – North) at @wirralrfc to conduct a #PitchPower report. Watch to see how the pitches have improved over the years, thanks to Ian's knowledge, advice and awareness of relevant funding grants available to the club 👇

Craig continued: “He will be a huge loss to the club but as we do every time we lose a player, we have a conveyor belt of talent ready to fill their role. It’s another example of the great work being done by the pathway to have another player head-hunted by a Championship club.”

Head coach Craig Harvey said, “Tom is an outstanding talent and I know a lot of teams in our league will be glad to see the back of him. He deserves his opportunity and I’m sure he will take it."

It is with mixed emotions that the club say goodbye to our 1XV scrumhalf Tom Akehurst, who is making the step up into the Championship after being approached by Caldy RFC and agreeing to sign.

TEAM NEWS!! This weekend sees our 1st XV in action as the take on @ManchesterRugby in the first round of the Papa Johns Community Cup. With this being a straight knock out the lads are raring to go and are ready for the challenge. #maroonandwhite

It’s Papa Johns Cup time and our first opponent in this years tournament is @ManchesterRugby The lads will travel away this weekend as they look to get one step closer to Twickenham. #maroonandwhite

Thanks to @durham_uni student, @DURFC player Leon Tahana who returned to school yesterday to give a presentation on his rugby journey. Leon enjoyed success with @SaleSharksAcad and achieved A*AA in his A levels. He has been a regular in @BUCSSuperRugby as a fresher playing prop.

Our 1st XV’s last league game of the season sees @kendalrugby make the trip down to memorial ground. We are looking forward to everyone down at the club as the lads look to chase down the tops spots #maroonandwhite
