@erichoke 9 am is the best time IMO. Especially with small kids. No issues with waking them up to go. Snack is appropriately placed after church. Doesn't conflict with lunch. we go to the 8 am during the school year. My kids are early risers even though I'm not! 😆

A very real question to ask aspiring church planters: If your community already had a dozen churches that hold Sunday services at 11am and yet the majority of the community is not in church, why is starting another church that holds a Sunday service at 11am the solution?

We must give our educators the tools they need to help our kids succeed both in and out of the classroom. I urge the Legislature to join me in doing what's best for our kids by approving the largest increase in state history for K-12 schools and education.

@kytothelee I worked for a company that gave a 10¢ hour raise to an employee. Now this was a number of years ago but I was still disgusted. She had worked there 10 years!

@WiscoBergstrom Not exactly. I've gotten a $1 raise every year since I started. Initially that was great, but now new people in my field can start making the same or more as me. I unfortunately don't know many places that give COLA. :/

Does your place of employment give a cost of living adjustment? And if so, do you mind if I ask what it's been the last few years?

You can’t go to work, to the MALL, to the grocery store, to your church, to the movies or the bank. You can’t attend a concert, go to a dance class or go to see your doctor. You can’t ring a doorbell, use a leaf blower, hop in a car, pull down a driveway, bounce a ball, or ask the neighbor to keep it down. You can’t check out a farmer’s market or mail something at the post office or go to a parade, and you certainly can’t send your kids to school without worrying that someone will get shot. That someone you LOVE will get shot. Or that YOU will get shot. This is where we are now. This is not normal. And this is not fucking ok. It’s NOT fucking ok.

Please consider reading this story about Craig Coyner, a former mayor who spent decades serving the less fortunate and shaping the city he loved before ending up homeless and frostbitten, surrounded by the prosperity he helped create. nytimes.com/2023/04/28/us/…

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) says climate change will be good for the U.S. because it will be less cold: "Global warming will actually be beneficial ... Why wouldn't we take comfort in that? ... Y'know, concerned if you're in the hot region of Africa ... but we're in good shape."

@freedomsbride What percentage of your overall body weight are you hoping to lose and in what timeline? Things that work quickly in the short-term are sometimes tricky in the long term. Many people have success for quick weight loss with keto. It's also easier to stick to on a short-term basis.

Consider this…many people HONESTLY BELIEVE teachers have an easy job, with short hours, amazing benefits, and a great salary. AND YET, in the past 5 years, states have had a record number of teachers leaving the profession with fewer prospects than ever. Think about that. 🤔😐

Educators deserve a salary that is connected to COLA. As a community, this is the least we can do for our kids and those who teach them.

I visited a new church a few weeks ago and it was a profoundly tethering experience. Ended up running into an acquaintance who grabbed her coffee and said to me, quietly: “This is the church that all of the other churches in town pray for.”
