MLS has a unique combination of personality & athleticism that is rare to find, but it needs to be said, in a midfield role, MLS has a lot to do.
MLS is a B2B player, but a B2B player must be able to impact the opponent's box like you see Declan Rice or Nico O’Reilly or Ilkay Gundogan do.
This often requires physical size to dominate aerial and ground situations + a sense for movement & space in the final 3rd.
A B2B player must also be proficient at defending the middle. Again, physicality + a sense for space matters here.
MLS can certainly learn how to move better without the ball and he has enough athleticism to be able to contribute in both 3rds.
The problem for him is that Arsenal have Declan Rice there who is the most valuable B2B player on the planet.
Also, a B2B player needs a metronome or playmaker for a partner. Since the job description of this metronome is to help play football, the demand for physicality on them is not as much. The emphasis then shifts to the B2B partner to provide the physicality to compensate.
Two things matter most for physicality in this role: aerial duels & running power to eat up ground when running back.
Guardiola has proven that you can manage a little without the running power to eat up ground if you can at least win your aerial battles. It means you only have one weakness you can cover for and you can do that by sustaining possession in the opponent's half and reducing the amount of transitions that is possible for the opponent. This is what he achieved with Busquets & Iniesta/Rodri & Gundogan.
In other words, if you do what Chelsea did and field a Caicedo & Enzo, you are in a lot of trouble defensively. Only one player has the legs to defend and neither are aerially great.
For Arsenal, this means MLS needs to be partnered with a Rodri for top-level consistency in midfield. While Zubimendi is aerially competitive for his size, it would not do to have two relatively short players in the middle consistently.
Even at City, they are seeing their best results nowadays with a Rodri-Nico O’Reilly pairing, with both providing aerial competitiveness and Nico providing the legs for the defensive transitions. Pep Guardiola himself cannot undo the athletic rules of the sport.
In totality, MLS is unable to play in midfield because he is still developing crucial characteristics of movement impact in both offensive & defensive scenarios while not having enough physicality to compensate for a playmaker.
Now, these characteristics of box-impact & athletic compensation for a partner are not as needed at left back. In fact, in terms of his decent defensive baseline, his ability to carry the ball and find a pass, he delivers a total value superior to many left-backs as you can see in his games against Real Madrid and PSG.
The problem is that Arsenal have Riccardo Calafiori who matches MLS on-ball value and is superior physically at leftback. Calafiori also has more traditional qualities of cross delivery and overlapping quality that makes him even more valuable.
Piero Hincapie on the other hand is a traditional leftback with power and pace for the outside while also being superior physically.
In other words, Myles Lewis Skelly has
—Declan Rice & Mikel Merino ahead of him at B2B LCM.
—Riccardo Calafiori & Piero Hincapie ahead of him at LB
He doesn't have the baseline to get the crucial minutes he needs for box-impact development as a midfielder and as a left back, Calafiori is at least better than him.
Without injuries, Arsenal need to either loan him out or sell for a surplus.

@SFibinacci @thearsfamily97 Den we shdlnt even bother. But that's why we bought them. Who would?

@WitEagle @thearsfamily97 Rice and Zubi can’t outplay Pedri Frenkie let’s be honest

The fundamental issue Barcelona will have with us beyond set pieces is that we probably have the best defensive fullbacks in the world. Yamal and Raphinha are able to make a mockery of any FB pairing on Earth
Which is why it'll be interesting to see how Hincapié and Timber fair against them. Heck, even Calafiori is amazing defensively.
We also have the depth to bring in finishers and keep up our intensity for the entire 90 minutes.
And our attack prefers highlines to deep blocks. Couple that with Barcelona's horrific defenders in highline (Cancelo, Baldé, Koundé, even Cubarsi sometimes due to his limited pace and strength), and there are enough weaknesses for Arteta to exploit.
That being said, the UCL is about moments, and Barcelona have more moments players than Arsenal. Moments, though, aren't only in attack. We have moments defenders that can pull up ridiculous stuff to keep a goal out.
It'll be an interesting match up for sure if we win both our QF ties.

i found a way to get paid $150+ to watch TV
law firms pay regular people to watch real legal cases before they go to trial
they need to know how a jury will react before they risk millions in court
so they assemble fake juries. show both sides of the case. watch how people respond.
your verdict could determine whether they settle a $50 million lawsuit or fight it
that's why they pay $150-$700 for a few hours
and you don't need any legal knowledge
not being a lawyer is actually an advantage — they want real people, not legal experts
it's called mock jurying and it's one of 8 ways regular people pull income from corporate research budgets
comment "TV" and i'll send you the full breakdown

@IT_unhinged Hi, pls what can I do to access a memory card that has files in it. It doesn't reflect anywhere but always asking me to format but I have things I don want to lose on it.
English

Someone from Finance just asked me to recover a file they deleted "by accident."
I checked the trash. Not there.
I checked the backup. Found it. Restored it in 2 minutes.
But I didn't tell them that.
I said, "Let me see what I can do. This might take a while since the file was permanently deleted. I'll need to check our backup archives."
Then I went to the break room, got coffee, scrolled through my phone for 20 minutes.
Came back and sent them the file with: "Got lucky - found it in a backup snapshot from last night. Anything older would have been much harder to retrieve."
They replied: "You're a lifesaver! Thank you so much!"
Here's why I do this:
If people think file recovery is quick and easy, they'll be careless. They'll delete things and just assume I can magic them back.
But if they think I had to dig through archives and got "lucky," they'll be more careful next time.
Plus, now I look like a hero instead of someone who just clicked "restore."

@footbolmatter10 I was just saying this, his intelligence and application is awesome and he has dat aura where he can deal a blow while being invisible. Great player .

@osasuo @NGSuperEagles I ws jst thinking, all of a sudden dis guys bcame breathtaking. Is it d pitch? Tactics?Opposition? Mental strength?lack of hunger? NFF corruption leading to poor attitude, frustration&no motivation?Where did we gt dis boys 4rm yday? Are dey not d ones dat av been playing ni?
English

If we are to be brutally honest, the only game of the #AFCON2025 that has tested the @NGSuperEagles was the 3-2 win over the Carthage Eagles of #Tunisia. And they came close to squandering a 3-0 lead. This game against #Mozambique, now 4-0, is an enhanced training session. 😂 The next REAL test for the Eagles will be against #Algeria or #DRC in the quarter-finals. I hope they will be up to the task…
