If your self-worth depends on social media approval, strangers will control your peace. Not every opinion deserves access to your mind. Learn to distinguish between feedback, noise, projection and cruelty. Protect your mental health: • Don’t read every comment • Don’t argue with people committed to misunderstanding you • Don’t confuse virality with truth • Don’t hand over your joy to anonymous accounts Social media is not a court of law & trending is not the same as being right. Guard your mind. Protect your peace. Choose your battles wisely. #MentalHealthMatters #FabAcademicInThought #AfricaDay

It was so stressful planning my mother’s surprise party leading up to the actual day, but in the end, I was happy with how everything turned out. I will forever be grateful to God. 🙏🏽

Estranged couple Phumeza and Shota Mdabe's court battle takes another turn Estranged celebrity couple Phumeza Mdabe and Mnqobi “Shota” Mdabe are reportedly facing further legal tensions as their ongoing maintenance matter continues in the Johannesburg High Court. The latest dispute centres around claims relating to Shota’s financial position after he allegedly opposed Phumeza’s application for R65 000 in spousal maintenance and R22 000 in child maintenance for their two children. In court papers reportedly filed before the court, Shota is said to have claimed that he was unemployed and relied heavily on financial support from close associates during periods of financial difficulty. In a previous reports by Africa Daily, he alleged that internationally acclaimed DJ Black Coffee assisted the family financially by allegedly helping secure a R3.5 million property, purchasing two luxury vehicles and contributing towards aviation studies for one of their children. However, Phumeza has reportedly challenged some of the claims made about Shota’s finances, maintaining that he continues to earn income through his entertainment career and business interests. Phumeza allegedly submitted documents to court which she claims show that Shota’s companies generated close to R2 million in revenue between May and September 2025. “Bank statements of the aforesaid and proof of monthly payments reflect substantial income and past monthly transfers earning in excess of R300 000 per month are herewith attached,” reads a statement reportedly contained in the court documents. The reports further allege that Shota earns additional income through his work within the entertainment industry, including professional work linked to Black Coffee’s touring operations. Neither Phumeza nor Shota has publicly commented on the latest reported court developments. buzzlifenews.com

"I wish her heart lives on in you." Those were Dalene Ncala's words to her eldest daughter, Liat. After all, it was a heart that first beat inside her over 27 years ago. One she nurtured and shaped as a single mother in northern KZN. That heart belonged to Nomzila Madinane. Overflowing with passion, love and determination. First, an overachiever at school. Later, a beautiful, talented young woman. But, that heartbeat - the soundtrack to her glorious life - was viciously stopped by a rifle. A graduate. A pharmacist. A businesswoman. An employer. A daughter. A sister. A person dedicated to improving lives, robbed of hers. Surrounded by everything to prolong lives, but powerless against the unstoppable hail of bullets. On Tuesday, Nomzila was stocking the shelves of her soon-to-be-opened outlet - KwaNyuswa Pharmacy. Three gunmen stormed the place. A cashier was shot dead. A security guard wounded. Later, he, too, passed away. But the main target must have been Nomzila. Nothing was taken from the store. As Nomzila's heart beat for the last time, her murderers casually walked off to a VW Polo and left. In broad daylight. The crime has all the hallmarks of a targeted assassination. And for someone already worried about safety, it is the most tragic way to be proven right. Hard work and a successful career meant Nomzila had the means to do - and have - just about anything she wanted. Designer clothes. Premium restaurants. Fast cars. She would have taken delivery of a brand new BMW M2 in a few days. Her Instagram account shows a young woman enjoying a life she earned. But, was she truly enjoying it? Could anyone enjoy a life without real freedom? In December, gunmen targeted her first store in Berea. Later, a friend of her ex-boyfriend's brother was arrested. The same ex - a doctor - who allegedly told her family he could kill her. The one who, according to them, intentionally crashed a car with Nomzila inside. The one she wrote about in a message to her landlord as she fearfully tried to cancel a lease. The one who refused to let her go. The one she desperately tried to get a protection order against this year. And the reason she paid for security escorts on social outings. Alungile - her other sister - will never forget her sibling's chilling words. "If anything ever happens to me, just know it's him." A few months before her death, her sisters met with the doctor through a senior colleague. They chose a dignified approach to remind him of Nomzila's wishes. But he apparently seemed unrepentant. They haven’t heard from him since. The killing is being probed by the successful provincial SAPS Murder and Robbery Unit. Within hours, several leads were already on their radar. But the Madinane family is demanding quick justice. A mastermind, the killers - anyone who helped - to be thrown behind bars. They know it won't bring her back. But maybe, just maybe, it will start to mend their hearts enough to protect Nomzila's memory for eternity. **Watch the full story on @eNCA tonight after 9pm.
