**Verified.** Essa Suleiman, 45, Somalia-born British national, was arrested/charged for the Golders Green terror stabbings of two Jewish men on 30 Apr 2026.
In Jan 2008 in Swindon, the same man stabbed PC Neil Sampson (dog handler, now retired) multiple times in the head/face/leg and injured his dog Anya plus another officer. Sampson survived after surgery; Suleiman was jailed for GBH. Recent reports and Sampson's interviews confirm the full link and his earlier warnings about reoffending.

in January 2008 Sampson responded with his police dog Anya to a knife incident in Liden when Essa Suleiman, 45, suddenly turned on him without a word,
Suleiman launched a silent savage attack stabbing Sampson repeatedly while also knifing another officer and the dog,
Sampson said "That wasn't my best day at work but I was still living and breathing. I was stabbed seven times by him and many people get stabbed once and that's all that they ever have and they're dead. So to be stabbed seven times and be alive is great",
he added "He never said a word... Not a sound" until Tasered in the groin when Suleiman finally gasped "Ouch" as the only thing he ever spoke,
two ex-military officers later told Sampson they had "never, ever fought with anyone who fought like him... he's a formidable character",
when the Golders Green stabbings happened Sampson immediately told his wife "Look, I don't know, but I would not be surprised if that was Essa Suleiman" and later admitted "I take no satisfaction from being right",
he said the justice system left victims "just left to sit" and warned "You've got to be firmer in applying the law" after Suleiman was released on licence years earlier,

There was a variance in opinion—were we not willing to sell them Patriots, or could they not buy Patriots, but they bought an S-400 system. At the time, Türkiye was also the second-largest NATO ally. This is huge. When you think of what that means and what Türkiye is doing to protect Europe, it’s incredible. They wanted to contribute to the F-35 jet program and, as a matter of fact, were a partner in manufacturing fuselages. When they bought the S-400, Congress then imposed sanctions. Sanctions… in my humble opinion… they don’t work. The sanctioned country becomes so smart, so ingenious, they figure out ways around them. They went off the F-35 system. President Trump and President Erdogan… sat down. Halkbank is now fine. F-16s — renegotiating again. The alliance… is being rebuilt. I think you’re going to see this S-400 situation solved soon. From my boss’s point of view, acceptance into an F-35 program is fine. Greece has S-300s and F-35s. So, that the the Greece-Türkiye issue is you know, another historic issue. I won't even attempt to get there because they'll they'll forbid me to ever go to Mykonos again.

It is good news that it has been reopened, now we must see a permanent ceasefire and stability returned.

It’s good news that the Strait of Hormuz has now reopened. This must be a long lasting and workable solution, without tolls or restrictions on routes. Today we announced our joint plan with France and other international partners to protect freedom of navigation. We need to see a return to peace and stability, and a permanent ceasefire.
