The hilarious thing I think about now, as I watch this... this is projection of the idea that the 'lesbian saved her' complex to justify a homewrecker fantasy. A good chunk of Lesbian romance is literally them pretending that straight men are these terrible monsters that other women need to be rescued from, in order to get the girl they can't have, because secretly she isn't 'really' happy. It actually frames them as more 'rapey' than the caricatures they are depicting.

Fuck... what do you even do in this situation as a decent human being? She doesn't like you, hates your guts, and likely doesn't want your help. Taking action against the parents will likely get her hurt more. Her parents clearly don't deserve their jobs, but that affects her life, too. Maybe drag her to the police and file a report? That only helps if she cooperates... Maybe work with your parents (the employers) to threaten them into not being abusive? Also, a reason she hates the MC might be less that she hates everything about him, but more because of the expectations put on her by her parents. Depends on how overbearing they were. 🤔
