I've used Mempool.Space many times for monitoring the network's status (trends in fees, mining pools, difficulty adjustments, etc), confirming on-chain transactions, and more.
When I first used it back in 2020 (while working in data analytics, with special appreciation for data visualization tools), I never expected to meet the cofounder.

Having a quick lunch steak sandwich with your young-adult son at the steakhouse bar next to the bank where he works, then going on with your busy work days has got to be a peak parenting satisfaction moment.

@notgrubles me neither, but it seems like the main two use cases are either if you don’t have access to USD banking and need a basic USD account, or if you “trade crypto” and hold your capital in USD instead of bitcoin

Our journey started 14 years ago when Bitcoin was only $10. Our mission was to make Bitcoin real, something we called hyperbitcoinization. Roughly a year ago we decided to take that vision to the next level with the launch of @Nakamoto.

@maxtannahill @MrHodl @brian_trollz @w_s_bitcoin @mempool @bithypha interesting. i would be open to partnering with a firm to provide us with the data if they guaranteed the accuracy, but my fear is displaying inaccurate data on mempool space and eroding the reputation we have built over the years.

Yes, don’t use low entropy wallets. But also…@mempool should label known inputs that belong to exchanges. I’ve had the same problem where I’ll pay someone some bitcoin using an exchange and they’re surprised to see how large of UTXO the payment came from, thinking I owned it. 😅

A bot just took my Bitcoin👇 ***** I love the word "PROOF." So I created the first 12-word wallet with just PROOF twelve times and christened it with its first transaction. But obviously, that’s terrible entropy. No one should ever choose their own 12 words. (Unless you feel like making a small donation to North Korea 😂)

@MrHodl @brian_trollz @w_s_bitcoin @mempool we don’t really maintain a list of what entities control what UTXOs, that’s outside the scope of the project. someone who does maintain such a list could publish a browser extension that overlays that data on top of the site as you browse…

@wiz @w_s_bitcoin @mempool You should reconsider based on peoples personal safety. An exchange label doesn't give much if anything away vs. the possible risk of people they're transacting with having a wildly overblown impression of someone's stack.

I somewhat feel that this entire switch in focus to the Moon is like some kind of April Fool’s bad joke, especially when I see these images of lunar cities. They look like crude, low-effort knockoffs of Mars renders.
Mars is a world, and the Moon is just a rock. It seems some politicians saw that China is going to land on the Moon by 2030 and instinctively wanted to race them. Little do they realize that America is already the top dog, far ahead of anyone else in the room. Why not just stick with a well defined roadmap? There is no reason for the leader to actively compete against the runner-up, is there? Are these people in power idiotic? No wonder the very same people designed the SLS, that infamous white elephant.

Since November 16th, I have finished 22 weeks of chemo, had multiple surgeries including amputation, endured two blood clots, drug induced skin toxicity, a cardiac event and an emergency hospital stay.
