Common misconception.
Signal does _not_ know who is sending messages to who the way people assume they do. They've had Sealed Sender tech for almost a decade: signal.org/blog/sealed-se…

Signal is pulling a publicity stunt. They already have your phone number! Which means Signal can already see: -Who you are -When you send -To who you send -But not what the msg is. They already have meta data. It's whether you trust them not to log it (I don't). There's only two main messengers who don't ID: -Session (closing down in 6wk ☹️) -SimpleX (secure AF, but clunky) C-22 is a dumb bill. Shouldn't exist. But this is a stunt.

Google's proposed workaround for installing unverified apps requires 9 steps, a 24-hour wait, and runs through Play Services, which Google can modify at any time. It hasn't shipped in any beta. keepandroidopen.org #KeepAndroidOpen
