@KobeissiLetter Target the companies with what? Their drones, missles and navy are mostly destroyed and Iran is not exactly known for any cyber warfare ability.

@KobeissiLetter 🤔 This is political grandstanding by Spain. This restriction has no impact whatsoever on the USA and its war in Iran.

BREAKING: Spain has closed its airspace to US planes involved in attacks on Iran, per Reuters. The closure of the airspace forces military planes to bypass Spain's airspace when en route to their targets in the Middle East.

WATCH: Video A dramatic video gives motorists a rare look at how quick thinking and proper driving skills can mean the difference between becoming a victim and making a clean escape. The footage shows a driver being boxed in by suspected hijackers on a public road. Instead of freezing or trying to force his way forward, the motorist immediately switches to reverse and makes a split-second decision that likely saved his life. What follows can only be described as a masterclass behind the wheel. With the suspects attempting to close in, the driver accelerates in reverse at speed, maintaining full control of the vehicle while navigating the road with precision. His passenger opens the door and jumps out leaving the door open but that does not stop him. Despite the chaos, the driver keeps his line clean, showing remarkable spatial awareness as he continues reversing over a considerable distance without losing control or veering off the road. The hijackers, clearly caught off guard, could not keep up. Via SA Trucker

@Mzombe @businessXplain Ita not ridiculous. Woolworths has had no share growth over 5 long years. This while Shoprite has almost doubled. Woolworths is drastically underperforming and the target is doable with a strong turn around under a new CEO

NEW CEO COULD GET R100M Woolworths has offered incoming CEO Sam Ngumeni a massive R100-million share incentive, but there is a catch... To collect the full amount by 2031, he must double the current share price and deliver huge profit growth. This "all-or-nothing" deal is rare in South Africa because it requires a total turnaround of the company's recent performance. Unlike the previous boss, Ngumeni will only get paid if he hits these tough financial goals. With 30 years at the firm, the board is betting he can return the retailer to its former glory and reward shareholders. Full details - ln.run/4Vgkh

@GeniusLeigh Poor Starlink. They are missing out on 0.0125% of global GDP by having Namibia show them the door. Meanwhile 35% of your population dont have access to broadband. Who is losing more? Your arrogance sadly blinds you to common sense and logic. 🤦

South Africa’s 🇿🇦 black middle class moved from ~1.7 million to 5.6-7 million people between 2012 and 2024. ~ 64% of black Africans live below the poverty line compared to ~1% of White South Africans. We need to accelerate BEE to close this gap. Poverty & Inequality are evil!

@Phislash @IraninSA South Africa gets the vast majority of its oil from non middle eastern countries. We have no shortage of oil and can simply make up any shortfall from our existing partners. We also have zero oil and gas tankers. Not sure why people think this is some victory 🤷

Mises obliterated the entire socialist project in 1920 with one devastating insight: "Where there is no free market, there is no pricing mechanism; without a pricing mechanism, there is no economic calculation." The socialists spent the next century pretending this problem didn't exist while their economies collapsed around them. And yet here we are, watching politicians promise they can "fix" healthcare, housing, and energy markets through central planning. They can't even calculate the cost of their own programs correctly — how exactly are they going to allocate resources across an entire economy? Every Venezuelan breadline, every Soviet grain shortage, every Chinese famine was just Mises being proven right in the most brutal way possible. But sure, let's try democratic socialism this time. What could go wrong?

Iran just announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Read that again. Twenty million barrels of oil pass through that strait every single day. Fifteen percent of all liquefied natural gas on earth transits that chokepoint. One fifth of global petroleum supply moves through a channel 21 miles wide at its narrowest between Iran and Oman. The IRGC Navy broadcast via VHF radio on February 28, 2026 that no vessels are allowed to cross. Every tanker captain in the Persian Gulf heard that transmission. Every oil trading desk on the planet priced it within minutes. Brent crude hit 120 dollars a barrel intraday. That is the opening number. If a single tanker is struck, seized, or mined, the models go to 200. At 200 dollar oil the global economy does not slow down. It seizes. Every factory in China that runs on imported crude. Every airline that hedged at 85. Every European nation that still has not replaced Russian gas and now faces LNG shortages through a closed strait. Every American who drives to work. The Strait of Hormuz is not an oil route. It is the cardiovascular system of industrial civilization. Iran just announced it is clamping the artery. Iran has threatened this before. In 2019 it seized tankers. In the 1980s it mined the strait during the Tanker War. It has never declared full closure during an active military conflict with the two most powerful militaries on earth simultaneously striking its territory. This is not posturing from a position of strength. This is the last economic weapon of a regime that has lost its air defenses, lost its generals, possibly lost its Supreme Leader, watched its missiles intercepted over six countries, and has exactly one card left to play: the geographic accident that puts 21 miles of water between the world and its energy supply. The US Fifth Fleet is headquartered in Bahrain. The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group holds station in the Gulf of Oman. American destroyers carry enough Tomahawk cruise missiles to sink every IRGC fast boat, submarine, and coastal battery in the Persian Gulf in 48 hours. Iran knows this. The announcement is not a military strategy. It is a suicide note dressed as a threat. Because the moment Iran fires on a tanker, the United States does not negotiate. It executes Operation Praying Mantis at ten times the scale and the IRGC Navy ceases to exist as a functioning force. Iran is not closing the strait. Iran is daring America to open it by force. And every oil trader on earth knows how that ends. Not with negotiation. With wreckage on the seafloor and crude flowing by morning. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

The first 24 hours were Israel. The next 24 hours are America. Here is the force architecture that is now activating and what it is designed to do in sequence. Phase one already happened. Eleven F-22 Raptors from Ovda entered Iranian airspace invisible to whatever air defenses survived June 2025. Their mission was not to bomb. Their mission was to map every radar emission, destroy every surface-to-air battery that powered up, and create corridors of absolute silence through which everything that follows can pass undetected. This is what F-22s did to Russian S-300s in Venezuela. No interceptor fired. The entire network went dark. Iran’s rebuilt air defenses likely suffered the same fate in the opening minutes. Phase two is now. The USS Gerald R. Ford sits off Haifa with a full carrier air wing. Its position is not offensive. It is a tripwire. Any Iranian missile that crosses Israeli airspace passes through the Ford’s Aegis radar envelope. An attack on Israel is now automatically an attack in the vicinity of an American carrier strike group. That is not an accident. That is the legal and operational trigger for full American engagement under self-defense. The USS Abraham Lincoln holds station in the Gulf of Oman, 850 kilometers from Iran’s southern coast, with a second full air wing and escort destroyers carrying 300 plus Tomahawk cruise missiles between them. Phase three comes overnight. Six F-16CM Block 50s confirmed at Diego Garcia. These are Wild Weasel variants, built specifically to hunt and kill radar systems. They extend the suppression campaign that the F-22s began. Behind them at Diego Garcia sit the assets that end this: B-2 Spirit stealth bombers carrying GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, the 30,000 pound bombs designed for one purpose on earth, punching through the reinforced concrete and mountain rock protecting Fordow. 113 additional fighters sit at European bases ready for deployment. F-35As, F-15E Strike Eagles, and more F-16s. Fifty fifth-generation stealth aircraft have been added to the theater in the last 72 hours alone. Fourteen tankers at Ben Gurion keep everything airborne. The logistics tail from 270 C-17 transport flights is now feeding a machine that can sustain high-intensity operations for weeks. Iran’s retaliation hit one civilian in Abu Dhabi with debris. America’s next phase will hit Fordow with penetrators that were designed during the Obama administration for exactly this moment. The UK denied Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford for strike operations. It does not matter. The B-2 can fly from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, refuel over the Atlantic, deliver its payload over Isfahan, and return without landing. It has done this before. It needs no permission from any country between takeoff and impact. The first day was the scalpel. The next day is the hammer. And the hammer does not need a runway in anyone else’s country to swing. open.substack.com/pub/shanakaans…

OpenAI just raised $110 billion at a $730 billion valuation. That’s 56 times its 2025 revenue. For comparison, Apple trades at roughly 9x revenue. Google trades at about 7x. But the interesting part is where the money actually goes. Amazon is putting in $50 billion. OpenAI already owes Amazon $38 billion for cloud servers. NVIDIA is putting in $30 billion. OpenAI is buying NVIDIA’s chips for 10 gigawatts of data centers. SoftBank is putting in $30 billion. SoftBank is also building the $500 billion Stargate data center project OpenAI will run on. The money goes in one door and out the other. It’s called circular financing. Amazon hands OpenAI cash, OpenAI hands it right back for AWS. NVIDIA hands OpenAI cash, OpenAI hands it right back for GPUs. Tech analyst Charles Fitzgerald told Fortune the structure is “a framework, not a deal.” The valuation math is wild on its own. OpenAI was worth $29 billion in January 2023. Three years and five funding rounds later, it’s worth 25x that. It jumped from $157 billion (October 2024) to $300 billion (March 2025) to $500 billion (October 2025) to $730 billion now. Each jump funded by the same companies that happen to be OpenAI’s biggest suppliers. And the bills keep coming. OpenAI originally told investors it had $1.4 trillion in infrastructure commitments over eight years. Last week, it quietly walked that back to $600 billion by 2030. The company burned $8 billion in cash last year and is projected to burn $17 billion this year. HSBC estimates it still faces a $207 billion funding gap even after this round. The growth underneath all this is real. 900 million weekly active users, 50 million paying subscribers, revenue that jumped from $3.7 billion in 2024 to $13.1 billion in 2025. But only about 5% of users pay. And OpenAI owes Microsoft 20% of all revenue through 2032. This is the largest private funding round ever, nearly 3x OpenAI’s own record $40 billion raise from last March. Every dollar raised comes with a spending obligation to the company writing the check.
OpenAI@OpenAI

Helping AI reach more people requires deep collaboration across the ecosystem. Today we’re announcing new investment, with support from @SoftBank, @NVIDIA, and @Amazon, to scale the infrastructure needed to bring AI to everyone. openai.com/index/scaling-…

Fiscal consolidation (austerity) is failing to stabilize debt, dismally. In 2025 budget is was 77.4%, MTBPS revised the number up to 77.9%. Now, revised up to 78.9%. Expect debt to worsen with primary budget surplus increasing & low inflation. IT IS ECONOMICS. #budget2026
