C'est grâce à la "transphobie" de ma famille que j'ai dû me laisser plus de temps pour transitionner hormonalement, jusqu'à finir par réaliser que cette "dysphorie de genre" était liée à des problèmes sous-jacents qu'il fallait régler. Et qui ont fini par être réglés au début de la vingtaine. C'est grâce à ça que je n'ai jamais entrepris ce qui aurait pu être une erreur fatale.
Alors que le milieu transactiviste me poussait à haïr ma famille et à la renier pour être "qui je suis". Or, ma famille était juste inquiète et terrifiée à l'idée de me voir changer.
C'est sectaire. Et ça joue sur la rebellion et le mal-être des adolescents pour les enfermer dans une réalité alternative.
Ces paroles-là, selon les transactivistes, seraient interprétés de cette façon :
J'ai renié qui "je suis" à cause de la "transphobie". Et que, tous les autres détrans détransitionnent à cause de la transphobie. Victimes éternelles, obligées de se conformer à leur biologie, n'est-ce pas...
Alors qu'il est juste question d'un mal-être pouvant s'installer à l'adolescence, et disparaître au fur et à mesure que notre cerveau devient mature, guérissant les blessures qui nous faisaient haïr nos corps. Le temps d'avoir pleinement confiance en soi. De s'aimer.
Je suis aujourd'hui heureuse de ne pas avoir eu une famille qui dit oui à tout.

We need a criterion similar to Popper's falsification criterion, not to rule something out as a science, as Popper wanted, but to rule science out of its jurisdiction:
"What is there here for you to apply your empirical method to? Nothing? Then you have nothing to say, science; good day."
This is the sort of thing Christians and ethicists need to be saying to scientists.

Christianity is a really funny religion, man…
Imagine thinking that whatever it is that created this majestic and possibly infinite universe, in all its complexity, scale, and structure, impregnated a Jewish girl somewhere in Palestine 2,000 years ago,can get jealous of other gods,can regret its actions,can command one tribe to commit genocide against another,endorses slavery,gets angry,thinks blood sacrifice is a rational route to forgiveness and creates eternal suffering for people who do not believe very unconvincing stories in a book.
Think about how completely ridiculous that leap is.
Christianity (and its little sister, Islam, which believes the language of this concept of a creator is Arabic…in light of the thousands of beautiful and rich languages on the planet) really is an insult to whatever majestic being created the universe, if there is indeed one. And images like these below actually solidify the position of atheists or the non-religious…in fact, it is exactly why they are atheists.
The sheer majesty and complexity of the universe don’t push atheists or any rational, non-indoctrinated mind, for that matter toward religion…It often does the opposite. It highlights just how implausible and, at times, absurd many religious doctrines appear by comparison.
Because they hold such a concept…that which would create this universe…to such a high standard, that organized religions and their books, when you read them, end up looking really, really silly.

In my career defending academic freedom and free speech, I never saw anything become as immediately radioactive as views that ran counter to the narrative on trans issues. Papers were retracted, compelled speech was treated as normal, and people were canceled for saying things that would have sounded like common sense just a few years earlier. It seemed to become a kind of secular blasphemy overnight. And usually, that is a sign that the true believers know, at some level, that they are on shaky ground.
