@Lara_Fergie99 Oh Lars, we have never met but I so feel for you. I wish you all the best for your physical recovery but also for your mental recovery. There are so many people out here in the virtual world rooting for you every second of every day. It’s tough but you can do it. X

Lots of bad news this week. Just out of surgery. Feeling very deflated. BUT I am so grateful for the major trauma team who come to follow me up. Their support has been unwavering. We get a little emotional just reflecting on the tiny snippets of progress i am making. The trauma psychologist has been a god send. Her words help me through difficult times like today. I also am endlessly grateful for the pain management team who are doing a fantastic job at trying to keep me as comfortable as possible. It's allowed me to do the little things like get turned, washed etc but also reach some major milestones like getting hoisted into my special big chair. The NHS is truly wonderful, filled with the most kind and compassionate people. I'm feeling so grateful for the outstanding care I'm getting ❤️

@pinta44 @RetirementTales My aunt was a teacher. She used to look after me in holidays etc. I loved doing SRA at her house, never felt like extra school. I asked to do it.

@RetirementTales hi I wonder if you can help me, when I was at primary/middle school we did these cards in English . They were in a box shaped like a house, I think they were called SRA. This would be late 70s. Do you know anything about them.

@MartinSLewis Two tips as someone who struggled - 1. I use a mirror but look past it into something reflected when putting in, a dry finger also helps stop them sticking to finger. 2. A glass of water before you take them out..might be psychological but hydration is key to less sticky.

Just had my third 'contact lenses lesson'. I finally managed to get a lens in each eye after much effort, though getting them out was hard. Still not good enough for them to let me buy the lenses. Did anyone else out there find it this hard!

TW 🚫 On Thursday I attempted to take my own life. I'm left with a completely shattered heel bone, broken metatarsals and a dislocation. Currently I'm on bed rest with a very uncomfortable catheter and shed loads of pain. Is been made very aware that I'm never going to be able to walk again the same and will most probably will need a full fusion within 2 years. I'm utterly heart broken that my ptsd led paranoia has completely changed my life. I'm feeling so remorseful for the pain I've Inflicted on others, most importantly my family. I wish I never made that decision but it was completely led by intense fear. I just wanted to share this to say how lucky I feel to still be here. In the moment I felt as though I had no other choice. Now I can see a life ahead of me. Sure j still feel suicidal but this has been massive wake up call. Recovery isn't linear but I'm determined to turn this dark place around. Lots of love to you all ❤️

I can’t think of anything worse than someone shouting an ancient catch phrase at me from the audience, not that I’ve got a catch phrase - if I did, it would be ‘ I’m no fucking trouble me’
Jonathan Pie@JonathanPieNews

They've paid the same amount of money as you to hear Peter Kay not to hear you be an unfunny entitled prick. I'm sure Peter gave you fair warning and likely got a huge round of applause when he did eventually throw you out and I hope you didn't get a refund!

Slow Roast Char Siu Belly Pork / Egg Fried Rice / Sesame & Soy Pak Choi / Sweet Pickled Carrot & Spring Onion Served up with fluffy Bao Buns. An alternative take on a 'Sunday Roast' that the 11yo rapidly demolished - he says it's his kind of food!

Waffles with sliced banana, honey drizzle, and grated chocolate. If you want to make an 11yo happy, just serve them this for pudding. (The waffles are just ready-made Teaco waffles heated in the toaster, the rest is as obvious as it sounds).

@professor_dave For an 11 year old that doesn’t find life easy, or even for one that does, that is a top job. Take a bow 11 year old, and take a bow @professor_dave for building useful skills. Well done. 👏🏻

Today, the 11yo asked to cook tea, so here it is. Yes, it's just a Mexican taco kit, but he learned to handle, chop and spice chicken, prepare and slice a pepper, use the hobs, grate some cheese, and bring everything together on the table.

Now in Oban hospital as a staging post till a bed is available on the psychiatric ward in Lochgilphead. It’s a huge relief to feel safe at last. I’m tired, disoriented and feel a dreadful sense of failure. Thank you all for your wonderful words of kindness. x

@jennyeclair Oh the L-Shaped Room. A friend of my biological mother told me “She always felt the L-Shaped Room was written about her.” It made it especially poignant when I read the book and saw the film, especially the scene when she visits the cold-hearted doctor.
