ASPA is emerging to prevent BGP route leaks by validating provider relationships between networks. This overview from @Cloudflare's @heymingwei and Bryton Herdes shares why it matters for routing security and the resilience of the global Internet. manrs.org/2026/03/aspa-m…

⚠️ CentOS 9 Vulnerability Lets Attackers Escalate to Root Privileges - PoC Released Source: cybersecuritynews.com/centos-9-vulne… A critical use-after-free (UAF) vulnerability in the Linux kernel's sch_cake queuing discipline (Qdisc) affects CentOS 9, allowing local users to gain root privileges. The issue arises in the cake_enqueue function of the CAKE Qdisc, which returns NET_XMIT_SUCCESS even after dropping packets due to buffer limits. This misleads parent classful Qdiscs like HFSC, leading to improper state management and a UAF when dequeuing packets. Attackers can exploit this for arbitrary code execution in kernel context, achieving local privilege escalation (LPE). #cybersecuritynews

🗓️ Exactly three weeks ago #Iran imposed a national internet blackout to obscure civilian killings. Whitelisting and heavy filtering are still in effect. The incident is among the most severe of its kind on record, exceeded in duration only during civil war in Myanmar and Sudan.

Something useful from the 🇺🇸 US GOV 😱. The boffins at @NIST have released NIST-BRIO which focuses on testing BGP AS_PATH verification when ASPA (Autonomous System Provider Authorization) objects are present. See @ietf draft-ietf-sidrops-aspa-verification. nist.gov/services-resou…

@anurag_bhatia Also worth noting.. Their IPv6 anycast prefix wasn’t hijacked by VSNL. Both prefixes were eventually dropped from the routing table.

@macarnecom Solid move! Always good to see capacity scaling at that level. Let’s get some native v6 riding on that too. 👌
