ATT Please copy this letter and flyer to email to the officials below. Operation Free Dalton Public Statement and Media Advisory Date: May 21, 2026 From: Operation Free Dalton, the official support network for Dalton Eatherly To: Montgomery County Officials, Law Enforcement, Courts, and Media Re: Disavowal of Jake Lang and Request for Accurate Coverage The Letter To whom it may concern, Operation Free Dalton is the official support network for Dalton Eatherly. We are writing to every relevant official, law enforcement agency, court officer, and media outlet in Montgomery County in advance of any public proceedings related to his case. We have four requests. What We Are Asking Law enforcement: We ask the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Clarksville Police Department to be aware that Jake Lang (Edward Jacob Lang), a agent provocateur with no connection to Dalton or his supporters, may attempt to organize or appear at events near the courthouse. His documented history of provoking confrontations and his pending felony charges in Minnesota should inform your assessment. He does not represent Dalton's supporters. We have explicitly told our network not to attend. Courts: We ask that any disruption caused by Jake Lang or individuals associated with him not be attributed to Dalton or his defense. Operation Free Dalton has formally requested that no supporters attend court proceedings or organize public demonstrations at or near the Montgomery County Courts Center. Dalton's legal defense is being handled by his attorney, Jacob Fendley, and any activity near the courthouse creates risk for Dalton, his case, the community, and the integrity of the legal process. Media: We ask that this letter be referenced in any coverage that involves Jake Lang and the Eatherly case. If Jake Lang shows up, the story is not "Eatherly supporters rally at courthouse." The story is "uninvited agent provocateur, disavowed in advance by Eatherly's own official support network, attempts to co-opt a legal proceeding for personal publicity." We are providing this letter before any incident occurs so that no journalist or editor can claim they were unaware of the distinction. Public officials: We ask that you share this letter with your staff so that constituent inquiries about rallies or demonstrations can be answered accurately. Complete Disavowal of Jake Lang Operation Free Dalton is issuing a complete and unambiguous disavowal of Jake Lang. He has no affiliation with Dalton Eatherly, his legal defense, his family, or any member of the official support network. He has not been invited, welcomed, or authorized to act on Dalton's behalf in any capacity. If he appears in Clarksville or attempts to organize any event connected to this case, he is doing so against our explicit wishes and without any endorsement whatsoever. Who Jake Lang Is Edward Jacob Lang, 30, is an agent provocateur and self-promoter from Narrowsburg, New York. His pattern of behavior is consistent and well documented: he attaches himself to high-profile cases and events to generate media coverage and social media content for his own brand. He has no connection to Clarksville, no connection to Dalton, and no stake in the outcome of this case. Lang was charged with 11 federal offenses related to the January 6, 2021 Capitol breach, including assaulting law enforcement officers with a baseball bat and a riot shield. He served four years in federal custody before receiving a presidential pardon in January 2025. Since his release, he has staged a series of provocations across the country designed to manufacture confrontation and media attention. On January 4, 2026, he staged a demonstration outside AIPAC headquarters in Washington, D.C. During the event he threw chocolate coins, performed a Nazi salute, and made statements including explicit racial slurs directed at Black people and Muslims. On January 17, 2026, he organized the "March Against Minnesota Fraud" rally in Minneapolis, targeting the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, a predominantly Somali community. He announced plans to burn a Quran on the steps of City Hall. Counter-protesters chased him from the event. He was rescued and escorted to safety by Black bystanders who intervened out of basic human decency despite being the targets of his rhetoric. On January 18, 2026, he was arrested in Minneapolis for vandalizing a $6,000 anti-ICE sculpture at the Minnesota State Capitol. He filmed himself destroying it, posted the video on social media, and faces felony criminal damage to property charges with a trial date of July 27, 2026. He staged additional provocations in Dearborn, Michigan (November 2025) and Plano, Texas (December 2025), both targeting Muslim communities. He was issued a summons for failing to appear at a March 24, 2026 hearing in Washington, D.C. for threatening comments directed at a Capitol Police officer. On May 19, 2026, he threatened members of the Frisco, Texas city council. The pattern is consistent. Lang identifies situations with existing media attention, inserts himself uninvited, escalates tensions to generate footage and social media engagement, and moves on. He does not build, support, or contribute to anything. He extracts attention and leaves the people he claims to support worse off than he found them. We will not allow him to do that to Dalton.
