@MsRockson @Jojo_stephen1 It’s just hurtful that a business woman going on her own trip that a blogger recorded saying she will spend her own “70%” is being insulted by another woman like you because she found herself in a space with a politician 💔🤦🏾♂️
English

@Jojo_stephen1 She look like a bag of cassava Dow
But we will talk about that later 😂
The 70 % chop am well
Cos in 2029 you people will understand why they said be afraid of those that are quiet
DMB will make sure everyone pay everything you stole

Yesterday, Ghana came together as one for our Black Stars. From Corporate Ghana to the football family, supporters, creatives and the wider public, the show of belief was deeply appreciated.
When I assumed office, one of my key priorities was clear. To rebuild trust in our sports ecosystem and bring Corporate Ghana closer by demonstrating accountability, transparency and fiscal discipline. These principles are anchored firmly in the vision and Reset Agenda of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, whose leadership continues to guide this transformation.
Yesterday’s response is a strong endorsement of that direction.
I extend my sincere appreciation to His Excellency the President for his leadership, and to the Deputy Minister for Finance for chairing the fundraising committee with diligence and commitment. To Corporate Ghana, our partners, and every Ghanaian who has contributed or shown support, we are grateful.
Let me assure the nation that every cedi and dollar raised will be accounted for with the highest level of integrity.
This is our Black Stars. This journey belongs to all of us.
I encourage every Ghanaian to be part of this movement. Dial *899# or visit ghworldcupraffle.com and join us as we support our team on the road to the FIFA World Cup.
Together, we will carry the spirit of Ghana onto the global stage.

What is disappointing is the inconsistency.
We ask for private sector investment in sports, but ignore the fundamentals that drive it.
Which other sport in Ghana currently offers this level of global visibility and commercial value to attract that scale of investment?

@garyalsmith With respect, this is a clear misunderstanding
The FIFA World Cup delivers over 5 billion global engagements. It is the most powerful visibility platform in sport. No other discipline comes close.
So corporate participation was not charity, it is brand visibility.

It was a pleasure to receive H.E. Tong Defa , Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, during a courtesy visit to my office at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation today
China’s long-standing support to Ghana spans many sectors — from infrastructure and technology to education and agriculture. In sport, their footprint is already visible in the Cape Coast Stadium, and more recently through elite training opportunities for Ghanaian table tennis players in China.
As we restructure our sports ecosystem under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama, we are prioritising school and grassroots sports development. China’s success in developing sport from the base provides a compelling model.
We had a candid conversation on building multi-purpose courts across Ghana through partnerships, setting up technical exchange programmes for coaches and athletes (especially in table tennis), and capacity-building opportunities for our directors and technical staff.
Sport remains a powerful tool for diplomacy, youth development, and mutual growth. We look forward to deepening this relationship through tangible projects that serve our young people and the future of Ghanaian sport.

Today, I had the honour of swearing in a new Governing Board for the National Sports Authority.
In recent years, conversations around sport in Ghana have evolved; it’s no longer just about medals and national pride. It’s about how sport contributes to jobs, youth development, private sector confidence, and social progress. That’s why this new Board matters.
The Authority is the backbone of our national sports administration. If it functions well, the entire ecosystem benefits from grassroots talent to elite athlete welfare and facility management.
We are entering a phase that demands results, reforms, and renewed thinking. The calibre of individuals appointed today gives me hope that we’re on the right track. Together, we must future-proof our systems, align governance with policy, and embed performance-driven accountability across the board.
I’ll continue to offer leadership and support, but I will also insist on delivery. Ghana sport deserves nothing less.
Let’s get to work.

TODAY, HISTORY SMILED ON GHANA SPORT.🇬🇭
After years of conversation, hard decisions, and persistent advocacy, the Sports Development Fund Bill has finally been passed by Parliament.
As Minister, I’m honoured to have led this process on behalf of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama @JDMahama , whose vision goes beyond medals to systems that deliver sustainable development, access, and opportunity.
This is the result of tireless work by our Ministry, the Finance Ministry, Attorney General’s Department, Select Committee on Sports, and Parliament. I am grateful to every hand and heart that shaped this.
Now, the real work begins; to ensure this Fund supports grassroots talent, federations, infrastructure, and the future of Ghana sports.
Thank you, Ghana.

Still with my people, still for my people.
Yesterday in Jasikan, I had the honour of joining my constituents to mark the festive season in our own way with reflection, gratitude, and fellowship.
As has become tradition, we shared bags of rice, cooking oil, eggs, drinks, and tokens of support to help ease the celebrations for many families across Buem.
This is more than an act of giving. It’s a moment to say thank you, to listen, and to stay grounded in the everyday stories that shape our journey together.
To everyone who came around your smiles and prayers mean more than you know. Let’s keep walking together, one step at a time.
Merry Christmas, Buem.

Yesterday, I returned home to Teteman not as a Member of parliament , but as a son.
I spent time with our elders, shared food and laughter, and joined in music and games that shaped my childhood.
It’s always humbling to reconnect with the roots that raised me. Buem is home, and I’m grateful for every moment with my people

Yesterday, 7th January 2026, we hosted officials from Ghana Athletics and the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) at the Ministry for the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding to host the 24th African Senior Athletics Championships in Accra, May 2026.
This commitment reflects Ghana’s growing credibility as a trusted destination for major continental sports events. We’re optimistic that this championship will not only bring the best of African athletics to Accra, but also inspire a new generation of Ghanaian athletes.
Gratitude to CAA President Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, Ghana Athletics, the National Sports Authority, and all technical teams who are working to make Accra 2026 a landmark championship.
We’re focused on delivery, and we’re ready to welcome the continent.
