From Martin Iles, reposted: Having lived in the USA for nearly two years, I've realised something. The USA and the remainder of the Western world are no longer aligned. We all laugh and mock when the Americans say, "Freedom!" because we truly think we're as free as they are. Wrong. We're not. Not even close. The laws, the mindset, and the behaviour, is totally different in this regard. Most of all, the governments are totally different. The USA's convictions around core freedoms are on a scale we do not share. Meanwhile, Donald Trump wins the popular vote, the electoral college, the House, and the Senate... a man who, in every other Western country, is held in open derision, if not contempt. For these and other reasons, we are not the same. Yet the West, including Australia, fully expect to rely on the USA for our very survival. If the world turns bad (which will happen - only a question of time), then the whole West, without America, is toast. So, you may ask - if we're not very aligned ideologically, then it must be that we bring something to the party militarily? Well, no... actually... we don't matter that much militarily. The USA has about 470 ships in its navy, including 11 aircraft carriers, 69 submarines, 75 destroyers... plus 110 new ships in the pipeline. Australia has about 30, including 3 destroyers, 7 frigates and 7 outdated submarines. The UK does a little better, with about 60. Meanwhile, the US has over 14,000 military aircraft. A staggering number. Australia has 252 military aircraft. The UK has 556. The US army has just shy of 1,000,000 uniformed personnel in its military. Australia has about 45,000. The USA spends 3.4% ($968 billion) of its GDP on defence. Australia spends 2% ($36.4 billion). The US spends as much as the next 15 largest military-spending countries (including China) combined. The USA has a fighting culture. The men shoot things (a lot) and hunt things, the veterans get favoured in everything from parking spots to boarding planes. A uniformed young man is thanked in the street a dozen times a day. "Oh, the Americans and their guns!" we say, in our smug way. Yes, they have a warrior culture. We do not. We don't have to, because we're a leech on theirs. How many young British men are willing to fight for their country? Now ask the same regarding young American men. The difference is about as wide as it could be. Militarily, we don't offer squat. Meanwhile, look at the way Australia works against America's interests by loving on China. China made us rich and we stay close. This is a Marxist regime with expansionist aims. Again, you have to spend time in the USA to realise just how vast a gulf there is between us on China. Europe, too. They let China have their way everywhere from Germany to Greenland, all the while importing Islam and sending their own people to court for saying hurty words. Somehow, we have landed the deal of a lifetime with the USA that says, "when the baddies come, you'll save us ok?" Because we can't save ourselves. And we live in peace. But we keep gnawing away at freedoms, keep enabling China, and get flabby and disinterested about our military because Uncle Sam's got it. And, let's be honest, Americans are widely looked down on. To add insult to injury, we don't think that highly of our protectors. So, the USA is finally saying "enough." I am here, I can tell you what the vibe is, and that's it. Trump is doing what people want in this regard. They're over it. And we come across all shocked and hard done by. We behave like people with no self-insight at all. Yes, the global alliance system is all over the place now. From America's perspective, it's about time. And I must say, though I be a proud Australian, I am forced to agree. Something has to change.

How so? With words? None of them are jailed, or worse executed. "Oh no, I was threatened with loss of viewership!" What is your idea of "freedom of press?" It doesn't mean, nor has it ever meant, being allowed in every single venue without permission. There are always legalities. You want to know why Trump won lawsuits against media outlets? Because, even though there is "freedom of the press," the press doesn't have Carte Blanche on what is allowed to be printed. Leading to "freedom of speech," you're allowed to say anything you want, but there are exceptions. And you must suffer the consequences of your words are damaging or threatening in nature.

You may need to expand on your example. Are you implying that there isn't "freedom of press" in the U.S.? You will need to provide examples. The fact that most - if not all - of our so called "journalists" are allowed to report anything, whether factual or not, should show that your statement is false. Being told "that's a stupid question" or "I'm not going to answer that" is not denying freedom of press. Calling an agency "fake news" is not denying a news agency their ability to report how they like. "Life, liberty, and the PURSUIT of happiness" is where freedom lies, without stepping on someone elses.

@TKratman Can you point to any single metric of "freedom" where US is so much better than the rest of the west? It certainly isn't freedom of press at least. Also just two political parties that control everything.

@Erick_CG23 @KlinkaSaBrda @umyaznemo 1. Who said "they were complying with it?" 2. What is their background? What do they have to gain? I'll bet that anyone who was "for" an agreement established by the Obama admin stood to increase their personal coffers. Regardless of the intent of the country in question.

So, if I've got this, I should do my best to refrain from trying to correct a wrong, but find posts that I agree with and reply "something"? The algorithms should be able to better than that. I remember posting to one of the "idiot twins" something like "why do you keep coming across my feed? You're spewing crap." In so many words. After that, it disappeared fort a little bit. Thank you for the info on this. 👍

Why does a random conservative with 10k followers and a 200-word banger only get 180 impressions while some DNC troll with a braindead take clears 300k? That’s not the “free speech paradise” Elon promised us. The longer I’m on this app, the clearer it gets. I’ve been playing checkers while the other side plays chess with our rage. Here’s the dirty little secret they don’t want you to figure out. Democrat influencer accounts aren’t talented. They’re not clever. They’re not even funny. They’re professional outrage farmers. Every post is bait engineered for one thing. Triggering YOU into commenting. And every time you do? Cha-ching! Your anger literally funds their lifestyle. Last week I begged y’all to stop feeding the beast. I watched the same accounts who swore they’d quit…go right back to ratio-ing Harry Sisson and JoJoFromJerz like it was their job. Guys, they don’t read your comments. They don’t care that you "owned" them. They’re laughing all the way to the bank because YOU just boosted their post to another 200k impressions while your own thread sat at 183 views. We are financing the enemy with our own keyboards. The algorithm isn’t some mysterious AI overlord. It’s simple: engagement = reach. Comments are rocket fuel. Right now WE are strapping rockets to their posts instead of ours. A conservative post with heart, truth, and 400 words of gold gets 3 likes and dies. A Democrat post that says “Trump smells” gets 4,000 comments and lives on the For You page for 48 hours. We control this. Not the code monkeys. Us. So here’s the play starting TODAY. Stop commenting on their garbage. Mute, block, scroll...whatever it takes. Starve the trolls. Do you want to shift the algorithm back in our favor? START commenting on OUR posts. Doesn’t have to be an essay. “Facts” or “Exactly” is enough. Every single comment pushes that post to more conservative timelines. Repost the little guys. I’m practicing what I preach starting right now. If I like your post, I’m dropping a comment. If you like mine, pay it forward on the next conservative post you see. Ten of us commenting on each other’s stuff creates a ripple that drowns out their noise. We have the numbers. We have the passion. We’re just pointing it in the wrong direction. Imagine six months from now... Their troll posts rotting at 800 views while a 19-year-old kid from Florida with 1100 followers just hit a million impressions because we finally started lifting each other up. That world is one click away. So I’m asking you... AGAIN. No, I’m telling you. Choose whose side you’re boosting today. Stop helping the enemy. Start building the army. Who’s with me?

1. The federal level shouldn't drive anything when it comes to individual achievements (or the lack there of). 2. If you believe the Department of Education provided the "required" funding, you're delusional (I can show you documents of requests that are fraudulent). 3. If a teacher needs to provide resources out of there own pocket, that should be full evidence that the Dept of Ed. should not exist.

We NEED the Dept. of Education—no matter how much Republicans try to tell you otherwise. Schools need funding. Students’ rights need to be protected. Teachers & parents need data to know how to help kids succeed.  But Trump & McMahon are breaking all of that to pieces.

Did you our did you not tell service members to defy an order given to them? You're a Ranger, or you were (not sure what happened), and you commanded troops. What would you do if your troops, legally or not, defied your orders? (Rhetorical question). You're now not affiliated with there military and telling them it's okay to defy orders. What??? Did you, or did you not, perform an act of sedition? If you feel threatened by what the CinC said, I guess we know the answer. You truly are a disappointment to the Ranger regiment.

And that's where it should have stayed, right? At the command level. The major issue with the video is that it makes those that have never served (95+%) believe that an E-1 to E-4 has a choice in which order to follow. Now, this video may have been pointed at National Guard personnel, but they made it national (not just guard). I agree with you. But, JAG is usually involved on the legalities of orders, and this, more often than not, does not become a junior enlisted issue. A mistake was made. What are there consequences? Thank you for your service from a proud retiree/veteran.

Are you saying that members of congress are committing "acts of sedition"? Maybe you would like to clarify your statement? Worse has come from your party. Maybe you thought they were innocent statements of "don't let them be comfortable," or "they will have hell to pay." Those are just a couple of numerous times your party has wished harm (or even death) upon your political rivals. Maybe you should step back, think about your own actions, and actually listen to your constituents. Stop listening to those that excel from the hardship that your party is creating.

You do understand that it WOULD be a lawful order if servicemen were told to detain persons involved in telling military members to not follow orders (even if they used "illegal" in the phrase). And if the servicemen didn't follow this order, it would be a court martial (not NJP, as some have suggested). Notice I used "detain." This is because, in order to get to the "death" part, a trial must happen. I've over simplified this. If you don't understand, don't hesitate to reach out.

Yeah, people walking around with flags. Oh my lord, "kill 'em all" because they don't believe the same way you do. Even calling it an "insurrection" didn't hold water. Please stop trying to incite angst. There's already enough of that to go around. Someone not in the military chain of commands trying to tell our troops that they can "pick and choose" which orders to follow is actually an illegal act written in the constitution and is essentially the REASON for the constitution.

Mr. Stone, have you studied how every human body has a different chemical make-up? Is there maybe a chance that "vaccines" don't work the same way, as they did years ago, on today's human body? But, then you really don't have the "hard facts," do you? You're still relying on data from the 50-70's, right? Could something have changed? I mean, we've been fed "FDA approved" foods for decades, right? Could this, maybe, cause a change? The human body is a wonderous thing and it might be time to pay closer attention you it. Pharma doesn't care as long as it gets paid.
