I am new here and and sharing my story about my 11 year old boxer/Rottweiler mix who was 11 named Bruin. This past Sunday morning stared out as usual. Bruin nudging me in bed to get up and feed him. He ate, went for his walk and had a bowl of water. While I'm folding the laundry I hear a loud thump. I really didn't think much of it because Bruin always throws himself to the floor to lay down. My 6 year old turned the corner and yelled mama something is wrong with Bruin! I went over to him and couldn't get up and was breathing so heavy and wet himself and pooped. I tried so hard to get him up...I screamed for my oldest son to call his dad home. My husband and I rushed him to the vets. I think he drove like 90 while I layed in the back with Bruin begging him to be ok. The vet rushed him right in and soon called us into a big room which wasn't an exam room. He had a massive tumor rupture on his spleen and there was alot of internal bleeding along with many other masses in his stomach. He was suffering. The vet reassured us that this is sudden and we did everything we could. I layed with him as he took his last breath and the vet said his heart has stopped. I said so has mine!
Everyone who knows me knows that Bruin was my baby! I'd give anything for one last tug of War, him grabbing my slippers. He'd hear us laugh and get in on the action and pull at your clothes. Loved when I dried my hair for me to point the hair dryer at him. His loud bark, him jumping off all 4 paws for no reason and every reason. He was such a handful but my handful. Maybe I subconsciously knew and that's why I bought him ice cream last night and called him up on the couch. He showed no signs of being sick! He even jumped on me that morning. He was himself, no sign of sickness! He was even off the wall that morning! This was so fast and sudden. I'm going to miss him beyond words and everything triggers me and hurts. I'm just waiting to his his big beautiful face come charging at me 😭💔 those that ask if I'm ok the answer is no, a big piece of me died with him today. Rest easy Bruin 💔

I am absolutely heart broken. Last night my finace and I had to put down our lab. His name was Ash. I found Ash about 8 years ago, roaming around a neighborhood. I pulled over to see if he had a collar on, and he did not. So I opened my truck door, and asked if he wanted in. He jumped right into my truck. I drove the neighborhood for hours trying to find his owners. I posted him all over Social media, and no one ever claimed him. He also wasn’t chipped. So I decided to keep him.
I noticed immediately he had severe separation anxiety. My ex and I lived in an apt at the time, and one day our neighbors offered to watch him for us while we worked because he would whine so much.
I made a promise to him that day that I would never leave him, and I would be there with him until the end.
Well apparently the last 8 years flew by, and the end abruptly came last night. Yesterday morning he was playing fetch, running around, being happy as could be. By 9:45pm he was couldn’t walk, and was very lathargic. We rushed him to the emergency Vet. A tumor was surrounding his heart, and it tore open causing him bleed internally and putting pressure on his heart. They said these things are extremely hard to find, and it’s almost always too late.
I still feel in such shock. He was the best friend I ever had. He was there by my side through me losing my house, my business, my divorce, and pretty much having to start my life over. He will always mean the world to me. I love you Ashy boy ❤️

This is Eclipse. Every day she leaves her house, by herself, and takes the bus downtown to the dog park where she spends a couple of hours getting exercise and making friends, and then she takes the bus back home again. She even has her own bus pass attached to the collar.
It started when her owner, Jeff Young, was taking too long when the bus arrived, so she impatiently ran ahead and got on the bus by herself. The bus driver recognized her and dropped her off at the dog park, and later Jeff caught up with her. After several more trips by herself, Jeff started letting her go on her own, and she always comes back home a couple of hours later.
All of the bus drivers know her and she makes them smile, and many of the regular passengers enjoy seeing her every day and will often sit down next to her. Even the police have given their approval as long as the bus drivers are okay with the arrangement. "She makes everybody happy mental-heal

To get this shot I had to park illegally, run out in the pouring rain, walk almost a mile only to realize I forgot my memory card, buy a memory card, go back to this spot, back to wallgreens because the friggen memory card was bad, then back here to fight with an incredibly fogged up lens for anoth half hour. I was absolutely drenched.

There was a little coffee shop where two people arrived and approached the counter.
“Five coffees ☕️ please. Two for us and three pending.”
They paid, they took their two coffees and left.
I asked the waiter. "What’s this about pending coffees?"
“Wait and you'll see."
Some more people came in.
Two girls asked for a coffee each, they paid and left.
The following order was for seven coffees and it was made by three women -
Three for them and four pending coffees.
I was left wondering...what is the meaning of the pending coffees, they leave.
Then, a man dressed in worn clothes, who looks like he might be homeless, arrives at the counter and asks sincerely...
“Do you have a coffee pending?”
“Yes we do, sir.”
They serve him a coffee.... I got my answer.
People pay in advance for a coffee that will be served to whoever can't afford a hot drink.
This tradition started in Naples.
Amazingly, it has spread throughout the world’s cities and towns.
It’s also possible to order not only “pending coffees” but also a sandwich or a full low cost meal.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could all start doing this in the cities and towns where we live?
Small kindnesses like this can impact so many lives, in ways we could never imagine.
Maybe we should all try it.
😊❤️🌹

Roddie Edmonds was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army. In late 1944, Edmonds was captured in the Battle of the Bulge and held at a German POW camp. In January 1945, the Nazis ordered all Jewish-American POWs to step forward. Edmonds, the highest-ranking noncommissioned officer at the camp, ordered all 1,000 US soldiers to step forward, regardless of their religion.
A German commander demanded that Edmonds identify the Jewish soldiers. Edmonds replied, "We are all Jews here." The commander threatened to shoot him if he did not comply. Edmonds refused, saying, "If you shoot, you'll have to shoot us all." The commander backed down.
Edmonds' actions are credited with saving the lives of 200 Jewish soldiers. In 2015, he was posthumously named Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem and was the first American soldier to receive the honor.
Edmonds' story is a reminder of the courage and compassion of those who stood up to the Nazis during World War II. He is a true hero, and his legacy will never be forgotten.

Wow. Texas Democrat @jamestalarico just said it perfectly on the Lights On with Jessica Denson podcast.
"Republican politicians in this capitol have banned books in the name of protecting children. Republican politicians in this capitol have banned drag queens in the name of protecting children. Yet those same Republican politicians won’t lift a finger to address the leading cause of death among children in the United States, which is gun violence."
