After participating in the Empowered Worldview training in Kurungu, Marsabit County, Eunice joined 19 other women to form the Lobore Savings for Transformation group. As she began saving and planning for the future, her husband Joseph saw the change at home and joined a savings group too.
Today, the couple is building a new future for their family. With their savings, Eunice Kshs 60,000 and Joseph Kshs 30,000, they have enrolled their children in school, with Eunice using her first loan to buy uniforms and essentials.
“Before the training, we survived by burning charcoal,” Eunice shares. “Now we’ve shifted to crop farming and beekeeping, work that brings better income and restores our land. I want my children, especially my daughters, to succeed and not marry early.”
Through #EmpoweredWorldview, families are learning how to improve their livelihoods and lead their own transformation, helping break harmful practices like child marriage from within.

Despite the rains in other parts of the country, Turkana is still in severe drought.
Families are walking long distances for food and water, often returning with nothing, with children going to bed hungry for days at a time.

When women are empowered, their light reaches far beyond themselves; uplifting families and strengthening communities.
@VisionFundKE Proud to join hands with @WorldVisionKE to celebrate International Women’s Day under the theme “Give to Gain.”

Violence against women and girls remains a global crisis, with approximately 840 million women aged 15 and older having been subjected to sexual or intimate partner violence, with its impact reaching far beyond the survivor.
In Kenya, cases of femicide and intimate partner violence continue to affect many families, often leaving children to cope with fear, disrupted learning, and lasting emotional impact.
Through the #BecomingOne program, World Vision Kenya, in partnership with @poverty_action, is helping couples in Machakos and Makueni counties build healthier marriages by equipping them with communication, conflict resolution, and joint financial planning skills.
Implemented through local churches in Kalawa ward and Mwala sub-county, the program supports couples with biblical principles and practical skills in communication, conflict resolution, and joint financial planning, replacing control with partnership, silence with dialogue, and hostility with respect.

Equal treatment before the law is a fundamental human right. Yet only 67% of women worldwide enjoy the same legal protections as men.
This #IWD2026, we celebrate women transforming justice systems from the ground up.
In #Mombasa, Naila Abdalla founded Sisters for Justice, helping women and traders access tools like the Small Claims Court bringing justice closer to the market, the streets, and the community.
When women lead, justice becomes accessible to all.

How we are closing the gap:
✅ Economic Power: Over 1 million women supported through our Empowered World View model.
✅ Financial Resilience: 174,012 women have helped mobilize over KES 2.4 Billion in savings through our Savings 4 Transfromation (S4T) model.
✅ Protection: 745 girls rescued from child marriage and FGM through the Kenya Big Dream program.
✅ Education: Achieving a 94% retention rate in school for girls in our supported areas.
Gender equality is a driver of sustainable development. We call on all stakeholders, from government to the private sector, to sustain investments that strengthen women’s livelihoods and leadership.

We joined the nation in celebrating #InternationalWomensDay 2026 in Nakuru County under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.”
We were privileged to showcase our work to the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Hon. @hannawcheptumo, who visited our exhibition.
Our discussion focused on the urgent need to bridge the gender gap, noting that while 78% of men are employed in Kenya, only 52% of women share that same economic opportunity.

Today in Nakuru, we joined Kenyans and the global community in commemorating International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls.”
This day reminds us that gender equality is not just an aspiration—it is a constitutional right and a shared responsibility.
As a nation, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every woman and girl enjoys equal rights, dignity, protection and opportunity. From expanding access to credit through the Women Enterprise Fund to strengthening action against Gender-Based Violence and harmful practices like FGM, we continue to translate commitment into real action.
Economic empowerment, inclusive leadership, and protection from violence remain central to building a fair and prosperous Kenya.
To the women and girls of Kenya: your strength, leadership and resilience continue to shape our nation’s future.
Happy International Women’s Day!
