What's with Tamil traders carrying it. Telugu traders didn't? Nationalists will never give Telugus their due. Amrutanjan was invented by a Telugu from Madras. But still the love simping to Tamils.

Amrutanjan went to Burma from Madras with the Tamil traders (who maintained a large community there for thousand years.) In Burma, some 30 years after Amrutanjan reached there, a Chinese trader copied it to create the Tiger Balm. Which Indians now import from South East Asia without knowing its true origins. Of course, the Chinese from SE Asia will never accept the blatant copy that Tiger Balm is. Because Camphor, Clove oil, and Menthol aren't used in their traditional medicine like Ayurveda and Amrutanjan. And Tiger Balm was first made in Rangoon where Amrutanjan was already popular, not in China or Malaya.

The Cholas had inscriptions in Karnataka written in Kannada. After the Rashtrakuta king Krishna III killed the Chola king Rajaditya in the Battle of Takkolam with the help of his relative, the Ganga king Butuga II, the Tamil region remained under Rashtrakuta rule for about three decades. Later, the Chola dynasty revived during the time of Rajaraja Chola. He, naturally, waited to take revenge on the Kannada kings and sent his son Rajendra on a campaign to Karnataka. Rajendra first faced the Nolambas, who ruled in the Kolar region. The Chola victorious campaign, which began in Betamangala in 985 CE, continued until the defeat of the Gangas in Talakad in 1004 CE. The Cholas took control of Nolambavadi, Rattavadi, and Gangavadi, and in the early days, they issued their royal decrees in Kannada on stone inscriptions. Seventy-two Kannada inscriptions of the Cholas have been found in Karnataka. The Kannada inscription of Rajendra Chola found in Sugatur near Jangamakote by my friend Shashidhara and me is the seventy-third addition to the list. 🫴Sudarshan Reddy.
