A bizarre play in the third inning of tonight's Mets-Dodgers game, as Tyrone Taylor collided with Juan Soto and made the catch. Michael Conforto, who was on second base, tagged up and went to third as soon as Taylor touched the ball but before he had possession of it. However, the MLB rulebook states that the runner can tag up from the base as soon as the ball is touched. The Mets challenged the on-field call that Conforto was safe. The call was confirmed and the Mets lost their challenge.
