België heeft géén eigen nationaal ballistisch raketverdedigingssysteem (zoals Aegis Ashore, THAAD, Patriot PAC-3 MSE in anti-ballistic modus op grote schaal, of SM-3 interceptors op land). België vertrouwt volledig op NATO's collectieve deterrence en missile defense (bijv. via de NAVO Integrated Air and Missile Defence), en draagt bij via deelname aan missies en capaciteiten, maar heeft zelf geen dedicated exo-atmospheric of strategic ABM-capaciteit.
