@MarcusCVance I've been a fan since I could listen. JT was my father's favorite band. My personal favorite is Dark Ages from Stormwatch.

@DocStrangelove2 Dude. They will tell you about the aliens before they ever talk about the giants in Afghanistan or the giant skeletons in Iraq.

Given that so many “conspiracy theories” have recently been proven true, how much longer till this gets declassified as real?

@thedoublebruce @FlintDibble The genetics of crops and animal being domesticated as well as the complete lack of any evidence for it is a big one. Also technology leaves traces. Mines, stone quarries, timber harvesting all those leave traces. There isn't any supporting a pre-Ice age civilization.

@FlintDibble I accept that it is unlikely, but what is the evidence that there wasn't? I would love to remove this possibility from my brain

@MarcusCVance What about thinking they are under represented in 40K, a power katana would be pretty cool, and samurai mythology fit in with the Imperium's dogma very well?

Being kinda into them is fine. Being heavily educated on their history and use in a formal fashion can be fine. But anything in between is weird.
Hedgebrush@hedgebrush

@sh44sti As a white man it's very important you resist the urge to get too into katanas, this is the path to ruin.

@MarcusCVance The Imperium kills more of its own people than external foes do. It is an authoritarian theocratic oligarchy. Probably better than the current US administration though.

@East10Outpost @DrDavidMiano The fact that you think archeology is more about digging than research, forensics, and scientific methods is probably why you're on the wall of shame.

@DrDavidMiano You said it is a description, not a slur. Therefore if archaeologists dig (specific to archeology) then pseudo archaeologists must be pretending to dig, no? 1 + 1 = ?

I personally don't pretend to dig anywhere, so getting my spot on the "Fraudulent Archeology Wall of Shame" has always felt like an undeserved honor😁
David Miano@DrDavidMiano

@DeDunkingPast The term “pseudo archaeology” is a description, not a slur. It’s an insult only to those who do it. If you don’t think you’re doing it, then why be insulted?

@DrakonSvant @MarcusCVance I highly doubt GW will ever clarify what Machine Spirits are or what their effects are. And that's probably for the best. Machine spirits are like the lost Primarchs and legions, any official answer will likely suck so just keep it nebulous.

The rain is a throb of fat drumbeats, incessant and unending. Smog and carbonic acid sizzle on flickering LED displays and turn out-of-tune holo-ads into electronic abstracts. One of the only things still the same about the Northwest US, it always fracking rains.

You have two things to help you get past these guards. 1. The closest thing to you with a handle on it 2. The main character in the last book you read How screwed are you?
