Today marks the 36th anniversary of Hurricane Hugo’s devastating landfall near Charleston. Hugo inflicted catastrophic wind and storm surge damage along the S. Carolina coast, while hurricane-force gusts ripped well inland, reaching as far as the mountains of western N. Carolina.

Scattered downpours developing along the I-70 corridor. Coverage will be scattered to numerous the next 3 days with a focal point in the central/northern parts of the state. Anything on radar will have 2"-3"+ per hour rain rates with areas of flash flooding possible.

Today's weather can be described in one word: Oppressive! At 1020am, Indianapolis Int'l Airport already hit 90 degrees with a heat index of 101. Terre Haute also hit 90 already, but with a heat index of 110! Drink plenty of fluids and check on those without proper A/C. #inwx
