@AndrewRTDavies You were completley ineffective in opposition, you shouted and moaned but got nothing. Plaid got quite a few of their policies adopted.

@nonregemesse That is a complete misunderstanding. What thatcher did was close an industry due to vengeance. She didnt put anything in its place. She just caused mass unemplyment and misery for many communities. What net zero does is create brand new healthy industries instead of dirty work.

@SKurtzCWSP @AndrewBowie_MP While the tories were in power they denied us funding we were entitled to. They gave us a brexit that damaged severely our farming industry. Labour have been no better. Scotland are doing better than us. Independent Ireland across the water is flourishing.

Andrew knows the damage independence seeking parties have done to Scotland. So he knows what could be to come for Wales. I believe in a strong Wales inside a strong United Kingdom, and don’t believe division is in our national interest. Grateful to @AndrewBowie_MP for his support 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🤝 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

This week we’re focusing on lower tax. The Welsh Conservatives will put more money back in your pocket by cutting 1p off income tax (saving up to £450 a year), scrapping Stamp Duty, capping council tax and scrapping business rates for small businesses. #GetWalesWorking

Scrap the Senedd’s 36 new members. That was the verdict from Llantwit Major residents today. After 20mph, I thought Plaid Cymru separatists and Labour would struggle to come up with a policy as universally unpopular. I was wrong. We’re facing a cost of living crisis. Fuel prices are already on the rise. It’s likely to get worse. It’ll feed through into household energy bills. And higher inflation will mean interest rates remaining higher for longer. Residents are feeling the pinch. In these circumstances, spending £120 million on more politicians is unjustifiable. Opinion within the Senedd is this is an important milestone on the “devolution journey”. I’d suggest most in the bubble need to get out into the real world. They’re so out of touch. Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend residents, like the vast majority across Wales, don’t want a bigger Senedd. They want functioning local services. All the residents we spoke to this morning face a 6.5% hike in their council tax, after the Vale Council voted it through on Monday night. Vale Conservative councillors, many of whom joined me out today, voted against the rise. They get out speaking to residenrs frequently, so unlike other councillors, they know the pressures they’re under. It all got me thinking what the money funding more Senedd members could go towards instead. Whether it’s more doctors and nurses or repairing our roads, it could be put to far better use. It could also be put towards keeping council tax down. Walking around the Senedd, there’s so much support for more politicians. Out in our communities, there isn’t. The detachment is striking. I don’t mind being an outlier, or even an outcast, within the Senedd. Defending the interests of the people I’m privileged to represent is where my priorities lie.

A glass-in DRS in Wales undermines the UK Internal Market and risks significant market withdrawal. This week, the WSTA and our members have been busy briefing the Shadow Welsh team. Thank you to @MimsDavies for raising this in Parliament yesterday. #DRS #WSTA

@AndrewRTDavies You are getting worse. The truth is that voters are totally disuillusioned with tories and now Labour. It is clear that the days of the tories is gone. You lost your deposit. The family voting should be stopped, but it was nowhere near enough to influence the result.

Sectarian voting is dangerous. There must be no place for it in our country. Yesterday’s Gorton and Denton by-election shows the risks it poses. According to the 2021 Census, Muslim voters make up 30% of the constituency’s electorate. The by-election was won by Zack Polanski’s Green Party after they fought a sectarian campaign. Several serious allegations emerged during the campaign. Election observers raised concerns of extremely high levels of “family voting”. This illegal practice involves a family member deliberately influencing how another person votes, such as by entering the polling booth with them. The successful Green candidate also produced campaign material in Urdu and Bangla. Although sectarian voting has now come to wider attention, the practice is nothing new. Plaid Cymru separatists also engage in it. Sectarian voting campaign “The Muslim Vote” endorsed several Plaid Cymru candidates at the last General Election. Brandon Ham, Plaid Cymru separatist candidate for Newport West and Islwyn, promoted The Muslim Vote’s endorsement of his candidacy on social media. Action must be taken to stop sectarian voting. There must be tougher regulation to stop practices like family voting. And consequences for those who break laws in place to stamp it out. On top of this, parties who engage in sectarian campaign practices, like Plaid Cymru separatists and The Greens, must be held to account.

I welcome the Supreme Court’s ruling on tarrifs from President Trump. Let’s get to a more orderly way of dealing with unfair tarrifs and practices. Free and fair trade benefits all countries including the tarrifs and barriers imposed on the UK from the EU!!! Let’s all play fair!

@AndrewRTDavies Post the Brexit result, Over a million immigrants came into the UK each year. 20k or so came by boat. The tories made a lot of noise about the 20k but did nothing effective to send them back. Just lots of noise. The real issue is the millions they allowed to legally come in.

We have a housing shortage in Wales. Figures released last week show there’s currently an estimated housing need of 9,400 units. Since 2019, this has increased by 64%. This coincides with Plaid Cymru separatist and Labour’s Nation of Sanctuary for asylum seekers, which was introduced around this time. Latest ONS data shows a year-on-year population increase in Wales of 19,300. This includes net international migration of 22,700. Without this, the population would have declined. This demonstrates that uncontrolled mass migration is the only reason we have a housing shortage. It’s leading to inappropriate developments across our communities. And placing huge pressures on services and infrastructure. The consequences for our communities are profound. Many Senedd members don’t like discussing these issues. But it’s irresponsible not to do so. This situation is completely unsustainable. It must be addressed.

Senedd ministers have admitted they’ll never have the necessary expertise to deal with terrorism. They’d have to depend on the British Government. This shows why policing must not be devolved. Putting the Senedd in charge of policing would put our communities at risk.
