Sorry to say that totally out of the blue I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel cancer that has spread to my liver. I have had no symptoms and went to the GP a few weeks ago with a mild cough. Starting chemo shortly. The long term prospect is not good, probably a few years

This is heartbreaking. The team at Rose Bruford Wigan are incredible and I love working there every time. The atmosphere in the building is still incredible despite this terrible news. I just wish something could be done.

@WynChloe Completely get it - with the onslaught of rejections and no new open hires, no new shows being produced (and the ones that are, exclusively happening behind closed doors)… where’s the opportunity for growth? how do we make this financially viable?? I’m here if you want to rant x

I have also been given this advice lollll. I would like a secure place to live within the next five years but I just can’t see this happening. I’m so lucky for the support I have had from friends but I want to be able to support myself.

And of course designers, lighting designers, they're all going through this too. A brilliant young designer told me that, at a @_scene_change_ organised Q&A with an established designer, the career advice they were given was "get a rich husband"...
