FYI - Under Florida Statute 322.15, if you are driving and lawfully stopped, you must present your valid driver's license when requested. You are also required to provide vehicle registration and proof of insurance. Failure to do so is a non-criminal traffic infraction (you can be cited/fined).tallahassee.com Officer's requirements: The officer must have reasonable suspicion or probable cause for the stop (e.g., a traffic violation), but Florida law does not require them to verbally state the reason before asking for your documents. Routine requests for license/registration/insurance are standard and lawful during any valid traffic stop.browardcriminalteam.com What you can do: You can politely ask "Why was I stopped?" or "May I know the reason?" at any point. The officer may explain it (many do), but refusing or delaying the documents until they do so is not protected — it can lead to further citations, arrest for obstruction, or escalation. Once the stop is over or you're cited, you can challenge the reason in court.

EVIL: Authorities in Louisiana have identified the man accused of carrying out a mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana, that killed eight children, including seven of his own. Shreveport officials say Shamar Elkins launched the April 19 attack and described the shooting as an act of domestic violence. The children were ages 1 to 12. Also, he shot the mother of his children and another woman, both of whom suffered serious injuries.
