“Driving Tori Crazy” was inspired by a running joke in the Victorious writers’ room that some of the cast members from Victorious (and iCarly) refused to get their driver’s licenses. The episode was a playful nod to that joke.
It became a Victorious episode rather than an iCarly episode because Schneider had already made a driver’s license storyline for Drake & Josh and didn’t want to repeat the same concept too many times.
