It feels a bit like buying a Ferrari to drive in the city centre, powerful, but maybe too much for the narrow streets. For me, Julián Álvarez fits that DNA more naturally. He doesn’t just run behind — he drops, links, presses, rotates. He plays like he’s been in that system for years. Barcelona need a striker who can be part of the orchestra, not just the one finishing the song. Osimhen is more… explosive, more individual in his movements. Álvarez is collective. He gives you angles, he gives you connections, he gives you intelligence between the lines. And at Barcelona, if you don’t think the game at that level, you struggle — I’ve seen it. @MrWills96 I think this is just rage bait but I'll say when Frankie gets injured or you need to rest him would you comfortably use Gavi or Bernardo as a Defensive midfielder ? I don't see any other DM in our team I even think Bernal is better than Frankie as a pivot.

With each performance, it becomes clearer how brilliant he is as a footballer, but at the same time, it also shows that he’s better suited to playing as a number 10 or a second striker rather than as a lone striker. That’s the dilemma, because it’s not really the profile Flick needs. But at the same time, the striker market is so dry right now that there aren’t many options who perfectly fit that role either. So it puts you in a very strange situation: do you go for a player of Álvarez’s quality, even if he’s not the ideal profile, or do you wait for a better fit that might not even be available?
