I pay over $2,000 in internet bills every month to keep my @helium operation running. If $HNT keeps going down, I will be forced to cancel all of my deals and the network will loose over 100,000 daily users. @MaknBank1 what should I do? @amirhaleem

AVIS BUDGET GROUP $CAR IS ABOUT TO REPEAT ONE OF THE MOST INSANE SHORT SQUEEZES EVER. In 2021, $CAR did 722% in 41 days and then crashed -54% in just 7 days. This wasn’t normal buying. It was a crowded trade that completely broke once positioning got too one sided. Here’s what actually happened: Avis was heavily shorted because a lot of funds saw it as the weaker name in the rental car space. The company had a stretched valuation, big exposure to used car volatility, and a business model many investors thought could not justify the price. At the same time, some funds were running a pair trade: Long Hertz, short Avis. And the logic was simple. Hertz was coming out of bankruptcy with a cleaner setup and a strong EV narrative. Avis looked like the weaker balance sheet story. So a lot of smart money ended up leaning the same way at the same time. That’s why the short became crowded. Then the setup broke. Avis posted a huge earnings surprise, and around the same time the Hertz–Tesla headline created chaos across the entire rental car trade. Once $CAR started moving higher, shorts got trapped. Because short selling has no ceiling on losses. Losses expand as price rises → collateral demands increase → risk limits get hit → positions get forced out. And the only way to exit a short is to buy back the stock. That is what turned the move violent. Shorts became the buyers pushing price higher. Price up → shorts cover → price higher → more shorts forced out. That’s why the move became self feeding. It was not fundamentals. It was forced buying from a crowded short. And once that forced buying ended, the whole thing collapsed. The stock crashed -54% in 7 days because the squeeze ran out of fuel. Today’s setup is again driven by positioning, float pressure, and market structure. When price disconnects from fundamentals because the math breaks, it can go much higher than expected. But history shows what happens next.

THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. A rental car company with $25 billion in debt just exploded 600% in a month because two investors own over 100% of the stock. Avis Budget Group $CAR hit a record high of $608.80 on Monday, surging 23% in a single day. Two hedge funds, SRS Investment and Pentwater Capital, control 71% of the shares but when including their cash-settled equity swaps, their combined holding exceeds the entire outstanding supply. This is a company that reported a $995 million net loss last year and has been struggling under a massive debt load for months. One technical ownership glitch changed everything. The supply mismatch is so extreme that short sellers are trapped in a mathematical impossibility. With zero shares left to borrow and the float effectively non existent, the market just gave a debt heavy rental company a 6x gain simply because the math broke.
