@Renevelation 72 in the EPL, 58 in Bundasliga. Still, relegation makes more sense. Playoffs/tourneys would take forever with that many teams.
Also, all our pro leagues have drafts for players. Where they finish the year affects the draft order. So it gives teams with less talent and chance

@Renevelation I think most Americans aren't familiar with the relegation/promotion system.
I love it, the problem is typically 32 teams in these leagues, and they use minor league teams as a "club" talent development system. You guys have 72 teams all operating as their own clubs

What makes you think that Non-Americans would want NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc. when we already have football?
To my knowledge the sports you named have a closed league rather than a Pyramid with multiple leagues as well as relegation and promotion.
