What I’m about to say is less about Ashley and more about the political climate in America. Some of your favorite political commentators are one unfortunate situation away from completely changing their views. I think many of you underestimate what was birthed out of the 2016 election and the political landscape surrounding it. It was unlike anything we’ve seen before—even compared to 2008. That moment produced a wave of commentators, many of whom adopted positions out of pure political expediency and opportunity. A lot of them aren’t principled in their views at all, and you can usually tell. Their takes are often shallow and pro or anti something with little to no substance. Just zingers, gotchas, and “owning” the other side. They didn’t arrive at their positions through any real intellectual or personal journey, which is why so many have since reverted to old beliefs or completely switched up. And however bad you think it is, it’s worse. You have to remember that for some people, social media engagement is the ideology. Their positions shift based on who’s applauding or attacking….not on research, reflection, or conviction. Sure, people have every right to change their minds when presented with new information. That’s normal. But many of these changes aren’t driven by growth; they’re driven by expediency. That’s why you’ve seen such dramatic reversals from some public figures. It’s one of the unfortunate consequences of turning politics into spectacle. It breeds this culture, and in many cases, it’s the easiest, lowest-effort way to make a lot of money.

@KitsuyaNoire You wanna talk about not condemning extremists? You praised Kirsche, who called the Norwegian neo-nazi terrorist Anders Breivik a "commie killer" Your hypocricy is astounding.
