Have you ever had the feeling that only black people get the dogs during police interactions? Well you would be 100% correct, here is the 2nd paragraph from the 78th page of the DOJ's 2015 investigation into the Ferguson Police Department. justice.gov/sites/default/…

@LZAmegalast @dreamershoteI I'll probably give it a try if I have a chance but I just checked my grocery store's site and the one product they have is lime cordial. Which just doesn't seem necessary in a time when I can buy fresh limes for pocket change anytime of the year.

@Xethron @dreamershoteI We have that but it's just not as common. And we would call it citroenlimonade (lemon lemonade lol) or homemade lemonade. Cordials can be really nice, there is so much variation. You can get fancy artisinal ones and add fresh ingredients to it.

@CarrieCnh12 Wow, the zero consequences treatment is usually reserved for cops though I suppose this doctor has deep pockets to help get him the top shelf deal.

Kitchener judge Craig Parry needs to be investigated, because acquitting a doctor who's a serial sexual assaulter of all 48 charges despite credible evidence and expert witness testimony, is suspicious and I wouldn't be surprised if this is isn't the first time he's done this.
Canadian Femicide Observatory 🇨🇦@CAN_Femicide

It requires re-posting - long post. Share among your networks and re-post. Please read to end then contact your local, provincial, or federal leader/representative [Link to news story at end] Male judge Craig Parry (Kitchener) acquits neurologist of 48 counts of sexual assault against 48 female patients. Yes, that's right - 48 female patients came forward. 48 female patients were not believed. 48 female patients apparently deemed unreliable Male judge discounts expert testimony of Dr. Vera Bril - yes, female doctor and expert - who told the court that it is not norm to do vaginal exams, breast exams or exams of other intimate areas during appointments for neurological concerns. Go figure! However, male judge knows better than female doctor/expert. He finds the evidence of 48 women unreliable. He acquits male accused anyway, despite the 'doctor' having had license revoked in 2019 by College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Looking for any male who has had a prostate exam when they went to doctor for neurological concerns. We'd love to year from you. What happened during the acquittal of Jeffrey Sloka? ctvnews.ca/kitchener/arti…

@LZAmegalast @dreamershoteI That sounds kinda mid tbh lol. I encourage giving fresh lemonade a try, it's super easy to make (in fact it's often made by children here) and just what you need on a hot summer day.

@Xethron @dreamershoteI In the netherlands lemonade (limonade) most commonly refers to cordials/syrups of any flavour mixed with water (what they call squash in the uk).

@Litus13_ @dreamershoteI Now that you mention it we don't usually mix it with alcohol either. There's premixed stuff like Mike's hard lemonade but you don't see people making their own lemonade and vodka very often. We also normally use pop like cola or sprite.

@Xethron @dreamershoteI In Spain we do have lemonade, it is just that we don’t usually use it for alcoholic beverages (we normally use Fanta instead), it is mainly used as a refreshing drink in summer

@PauvLucette @dreamershoteI Same here, definitely a summer drink when you need some relief from the sun. I don't think I've ever had it with ginger but plenty of places add basil or mint. We also have pink lemonade with cranberry juice or grenadine added for a twist.

@Xethron @dreamershoteI Oooh, didn't know about that Arnold Palmer, I'll try that, thanks ! For citronnade, it's mainly a summer drink, not in every bar or coffee shop, but it's gaining popularity. And there's lots of different recipes, with ginger, mint, basil...

@roxy_wodka @dreamershoteI Well I'm glad you do have it by a different name cause it's really good and nothing that comes out of a bottle does it justice. Even pre-squeezed, pure lemon juice you can buy isn't quite right, there's gotta be max an hour or two between the lemon getting cut and drinking it.

@Xethron @dreamershoteI in Australia lemonade just means sprite and similar drinks. American lemonade (or carbonated versions of it) doesnt really have a name here, but people understand what I mean when I call it lemon squash

@Xethron @dreamershoteI “are drinks made with fresh squeezed lemon juice just not a thing at all” lemonade in America is fresh squeezed lemon juice with water and sugar, whatever the hell you call lemonade is soda. It’s not complicated.

@PauvLucette @dreamershoteI Ah ok, I was gonna say y'all were missing out cause Sprite has nothing on fresh squeezed lemonade. Mix 50/50 with iced tea for an Arnold Palmer, which is also incredible.

@Xethron @dreamershoteI Hi, french person here. We do have it, but not by the same name. Limonade : carbonated drink, can be a soda or just lemon juice, sugar and fizzy water. Citronnade (or Citron Pressé) : freshly squeezed lemon, sugar, flat water.

@fatfabfeminist It's capitalism by the way, that's why everything gets worse. Capitalists can't just provide a service for a fair price or a reasonable amount of ads, they always need more. The service must get worse and more expensive, more of your data must be taken, ads must get more invasive

@tuktukcafe We have a saying here "the cruelty is the point". Meaning despite what excuses politicians give for who they target (immigrants, homosexuals, etc.) the real reason is cruelty. Many politicians simply enjoy hurting people.

→ change.org/p/%E5%AE%A2%E3…

@elie_mcn @NVanCaroline Genuinely evil people, there's no reason to ban acknowledging past crimes unless you want to continue those crimes. Conservatives need to be shunned from society, they should not feel comfortable spewing their bigotry in public.
