I want to tell you how I got here and explain the choices I made. To give you a sense of it, I didn't even prepare art for a "SOLD OUT" moment. I did everything I could to get there, but I honestly wasn't counting on it. And the joy is undeniably clouded by the fact that I let down a lot of people who believed in me. (I'll be forwarding this post to them personally.) I've been part of many mints, but always as a minter, never as a founder. And I can tell you: from this side of the table, everything feels completely different. I brought my idea to life: a process where the community draws with me and shapes the collection. Making it onchain art mattered to me on a fundamental level, and I was fully immersed in doing it right. My goal was to attract the people who genuinely love onchain art, collectors this would truly resonate with. After I announced the mint price, I got hundreds of comments and DMs saying that for $9 nobody wants this and they won't mint, literally from people who had been supporting me. That's when the question hit: how truly engaged is my community, really? I was a bit thrown, and after scoring the wallets with a script, I realized a third of them were empty, so I built my GTD list around what I could hand out accounting for those empty wallets. A lot of the winner lists only came in today, and I added those to GTD as well, and I told you about it publicly before the mint, that it resulted in an overallocation. I wanted to hedge and not screw up. In the end, I screwed up. First and foremost, I want to apologize to everyone who believed in me, and to thank everyone who stayed. I wanted a collection and a community I could pour myself into and grow. I'm not giving up on that dream, and I hope to earn back your trust. There's a lot of plans and work ahead, and this collection will live and grow. I'm here, and I'm not giving up. Only forward. 🫡
