I read that there was a “No Kings Day” protest in Brenham, Texas, the small town my Mom and her boyfriend live in that sits between Houston and Austin — population ~20,000. Just arrived in Florida for the Starship flight test. Surprised by how quiet it is here and that the rocket is not on the pad with just over 2 hours to go.

So my big remaining question about Firefly’s launch is whether the half assed ‘abort’ heard over the loop was relevant to the engine failure, or something else. Was it unrelated, or did we misunderstand.

11am local update: Still very overcast, but best view of @SpaceX Boca Chica launch site in two days. Flaps chained, and Boca Chica Village not evacuated however. Try for launch or more of a wet dress rehearsal kind of day, @Erdayastronaut @elonmusk @NASASpaceflight?
