ashveil hypercarry team comparison test between mortenax blade, sunday, and sparkle (e0 and e2) against king in check pompom. before replying/commenting, please read the explanation below (full video on reply). as usual, all testing are done with the same build across all teams. ashveil, tribbie, and mortenax blade all have 100% crit rate in battle. the relics used averages on 20 substats needed by the character as a baseline (in reality, player may have a much better build). the three units used all tested with e0s1 and e2s1 setup, with the rest having e0s1 build and e1 tribbie holding s5 ddd. the explanations on why pompom is used as the enemy is explained in the video, but in short, when compared to other bosses: - skaracabaz (4.3) has too much hit rng and entanglement that may led to having to reset too many times to achieve an ideal run when compared to pompom - fulwish's crowd control later on is detrimental for hypercarry settings, which is an obstacle because we're trying to compare on an equal footing disclaimer: AV numbers here may differ due to the nature of the run. my intention is to see how mortenax blade performs when compared to ashveil's current best hypercarry team, with the 3rd slot being sparkle and sunday. rmc does work too if you don't have either of them, i just didn't test it. what's important is to compare mortenax blade's results to either of the action-forwarding harmonies. and in case of sparkle, better build *could* probably led to gold badge on e2, and silver on e0, but i haven't experienced any run that has said results, so i'm only writing down based off my actual run i did. with ashveil having 100% crit rate outside of battle (and the same build across all teams) in order to not risk any missing crits, both sunday's and sparkle's (signature lightcone) crit rate buff does (unfortunately) overcap on him. why test with e2 on top of e0? these three units have a so-so e1 (imo), nothing as groundbreaking as for example, tribbie's e1 or hysilens' e1. so e2 is where the upgrades are. mortenax blade has a really good eidolon 2 especially for ashveil, enabling more frequent follow up into faster ultimate charge. while sparkle's e2's def reduce is really good, and sunday's e2 gives more sp and damage boost. more personal commentary on paragraphs below. mortenax blade (4p divine-querying, 2p bone collection) i did this run late at night so i apologize for missing the fact that blade DID get cc-ed at some point (which is immediately cleansed by sw passive), but he didn't go down the turn order (only having 19 av number added into his turn from 73 into 92, take that as you will) so in hindsight this run could've been better, but then again he already got the gold badge even at e0. mblade in this fight actually helps well against pomgpt's mechanic, requiring the robot enemies to die to obtain punchline, albeit not as aoe demanding as skaracabaz where it's able to summon multiple small enemies. the pros of blade being in ashveil's team here (besides the above point for aoe coverage) is also to help ashveil regain his ultimate quicker. more attacks lead to faster ultimate regeneration which in turn resulted in more follow ups/attacks into more damage. at e2, he gets even more insane. from my experience of running e2 mortenax blade in an ashveil team, you don't have to worry and wait for the zone to expire so you could ult. pretty much at e2 you're safe to ult anytime you want in this team (because all three are high frequent attackers). not to mention more charges for ashveil and more damage for overall follow ups. sparkle (4p sacerdos, 2p lushaka) sparkle post novaflare (as far as i know), does have the best damage amplification in general as a harmony unit. plus her holding sacerdos and lushaka further buffs ashveil's stat in battle (same as sunday). this damage amp is appreciated as ashveil can dish out pretty good damage on top of tribbie's true damage. my game plan here is more or less the same: target the small enemies first then aim the ally pom against the big boss. sparkle with 160+ speed and ashveil with atk% boot (imo) didn't have any particular notable difficulties when having to aim for the small enemies, if there's any cons is that she (like sunday) has no way of providing the energy off ally attacking for ashveil. at e2, her def ignore brings larger number for ashveil, leading to easier time of killing the small enemies and faster punchline generation. this is prevalent especially in the 2nd half, where chipping them down becomes much easier. sunday (4p sacerdos, 2p lushaka) sunday's main buff in an ashveil hypercarry team (beside his crit ones) is notably is energy, knowing how much ashveil needs his ultimate to launch follow ups. with sunday being built with -1 speed, ashveil can also do a double turn (which is why i used speed boot in his case specifically). this ult regeneration also made an easier time to target the small enemies into more punchline and into faster pom buff removing... you get the gist. same as sparkle, sunday holding sacerdos and lushaka meant that ashveil also gets a stat buff. my only difficulty about this run is the manta ray and the ocassional mini delays from the enemy; having sunday and ashveil be so close in the turn order could mess things up if the enemy rng doesn't favor us, which is why i added more speed into ashveil (it was originally 136 ashveil 135 sunday, changed into 141 ashveil). sunday's e2 (objectively) isn't as huge as a spike when compared to both mortenax blade and sparkle, but the damage boost and def ignore are both appreciated. if hyacine were to be replaced with dhpt here, the e1 would probably have more significance, as dhpt's dragon could deal some additional damage. to discuss the overall clear: this is talking about pompom in this specific scenario, but i think the closest one to full gold badge (beside morte e0 and e2) is e2 sparkle. if you have better builds, it will probably be possible (as my run was not made with higher-ups substats in mind), made sense as her e2 is among the best harmony eidolons to have. choosing pom between the three latest AA boss is (imo) the most fair choice i could make; as with fulwish i had an experience of her not being forgiving towards single hypercarry teams, and skaracabaz on top of being entanglement rng reliant is also more aoe heavy when compared to pomgpt; to reach an ideal run (personally), you need to have 5-6+ stacks on the main boss from killing a minimum of 5-6+ small bugs. i think (beside his obvious follow up, attack frequency, debuffs) mortenax blade excels in scenarios where the enemy needs aoe attacks, especially in these latest AA boss. ashveil being single target centric is the opposite of these boss' mechanics (of course *UNLESS* you are able to bruteforce), which is where mortenax blade came into play. his follow up, ultimate, and skill all being aoe meant that he didn't care where ashveil's bait lands; as he is guaranteed to convert each attack he did into energy for ashveil. in my humble opinion (which you are free to disagree), i think it's likely to say that these two will be the wheelchair team in 4.x. the most that will benefit from this is notably acheron, as follow up by ashveil -> mortenax blade stacks fua too -> gets faster debuff -> acheron ult faster with more damage. conclusion? i know few people are probably wondering if they should get mortenax blade for their ashveil, and if i may recommend: you should. especially if you want ashveil to deal more damage and have easier time fighting aoe focused boss. of course the decision is yours to make in the end, but i hope this testing and analysis helped in any further decision making. thankyou for reading! (picture me with that one cyrene kissing gif as this is a total of 8k characters in my notes so i do appreciate any support). if you have any further questions feel free to reply, i also had something in the works still that i'm hoping to post this week before mortenax blade's release.
